AMD -'Detection driver not found'

I've just installed a new SSD into my system and I was installing the 13.8 Beta driver when this message popped up. Google doesn't seem to cough anything up and not i'm using a 27 inch monitor at 640 x 480.

This is the 1st time i've seen this message ever and I have no idea what to do. It does this every time and i've downloaded multiple versions of the same driver from AMD's site.

Now i'm getting 'Application Install: install package failure'!

Only info I can find on it says to uninstall the driver from device manager then try again. If not then get an older catalyst version.

You have downloaded the right package and not the Mobility, right?

Well it gave me all them errors but in the end it asked me to re-start. I did and it seems to be working but i'm downloading all my games again so only time will tell. the weird thing is if I go to control panel -> uninstall programmes there isn't anything AMD/ATI related there which means i'll have to uninstall from the folder I installed it to.

I've downloaded the desktop one for Windows 7 x64 bit.

Did you allow Windows to install the default driver before you installed 13.8? Just wondering if without the default one the installer can't find your GPU to install drivers for. Long shot, I know, but about the only thing I can think of.

No idea, I assumed it did it already? I installed Windows 7 as normal, hooked it up to the internet to download the service pack and all the fixes and that's it, just a normal install.

Also just tried COD4, works flawlessly.

Have you got net framework 4.5 installed and fully up to date with windows update?

As it's a new build have you installed chipset drivers etc before attemting GPU drivers?

I've installed everything like I have when i've previously formatted. Nuke everything then install Windows 7 off the DVD. Boot up sort all my programmes out, turn features on/off and finally install all the drivers. This is when it went **** up but again it's working O.K so far so i'm tempted to leave it.
