AMD direct or third party for chipset drivers?

I always go to AMD but I noted that ASRock have new chipset drivers as of today, version 8.03.25.247. I checked AMD's website and it is still on 8.02.18.557. It got me wondering if I/we should be using manufacturers packages vs the more general AMD package? I'm going to assume that in this specific case, the drivers have something tuned for ASRock? If it was more just "these are compatible" then why the higher revision.

What chipset drivers do you use - AMD or 3rd party manufacturer release?

I'm going to run up the .exe and view the extracted contents to see if anything in device manager is newer or not.

As a side, ASRock also have a graphics driver version 25.30.32. I've checked Adrenaline and the closest looking number I can see comes under the driver version field which is 25.10.43.05-260303a-198974C-AMD-Software-Adrenalin-Edition.

Does anyone know what differences these have - are they specific fixes or tweaks to work with the hardware more closely?

I’ve always used the ones from AMDs website. Since 2017 not had any problems.

I always get them from AMD as they will usually be more up to date than the manufacturers website. The latest for my board on Asus website is from December while the latest from AMD is last month.

Yeah it looks like these ASRock drivers were just ahead of the curve this time around, and the AMD ones dropped after I made the initial post. Typical lol.

The ASRock GPU driver however, was out of date - when I ran it, it was older and wanted to downgrade the driver. Even though it appeared at first glance, to be newer. It was not.

So I'll be sticking to AMD website as well. :)
