AMD do it again..............in Germany

AMD won the case recently in Japan, I have no reason to believe they wont in Germany

Of course Intel's massve growth over the last 20 years especially helps them have much more developement potential in new FAB plants ( after all even a retooling of a fab plant can cost £100's Millions and new plants are nearer £1 Billion or so) but AMD have quadrupled their capacity from 4 years ago and up until a few days ago held the performance crown for a year - 18 months despite the handicap

I personally dont think anyone should complain about AMD fighting Intel - the stronger AMD get - upto a point - the better the competition and the consumer wins

Microsoft get fined because they bundle their crap in with their operating system demolishing any hope of any other provider being able to offer a competitive alternative. When you have a monopoly position as Microsoft do with near 90% of market share, utilising a closed source operating system it makes it incredibly difficult for other companies to code applications that can compete against Microsoft’s applications unless they can understand how certain parts of the operating system work.

Microsoft has refused to do this and where they have complied they have sent incomplete or meaningless technical data that can’t be used. much like Intel did to AMD in the 1980`s that left AMD a good 2 years behind with regards to its research. That is why they Microsoft fined.

I heard about this to. I cant believe microsoft are getting fined for including media player in xp. Its like saying i want to buy that car but its no good because i cant fit this engine into it so make a car that any engine can fit into.

Microsoft should just tell them to get stuffed and threaten to stop selling their products in that country in question if they still have a problem - that would put them back into the stone age and make them relise how ludicrous they are being
