I make no claims about the accuracy of this article as it is Fudzilla and a Russian website we are dealing with here.:D

The results are funny because they tested a version that still had console optimisations active. So the benchmark was locked to 60fps max.

Alpha code in a game thats not even out till may....

Having played both Alphas I saw nothing but solid 60fps on my 980ti @1440p, take the results with a pitch of salt and Ill be very surprised if there such a massive gap upon release.

While true AMD cards can hold 60fps as a minimum so should be faster overall. A 290 seems to hold better minimums compared to a gtx980ti which really would make Nvidia slow in this game. I doubt this will be the case and a pinch of salt is needed here.

Edit: after reading the higher resolution fps it would seem Nvidia are well behind so far. Amd's GCN seems to keep giving over time and anyone that bought a 7970/290 keep getting gifts as time goes on. Nvidia on the other hand seem to be giving there users a good slap lol.

More than likely the game will be locked to 60fps on release due to the engine.

Was also done in doom 3 with an early version being bench-marked at hardocp.

Was similar for RAGE before release - also inhouse AMD was performing very well... then AMD completely derped on the release driver so heres hoping they don't do that again.

EDIT: According to my source at id those results are rubbish and top end nVidia cards easily hold 60fps at those resolutions.

As far as I remember, in that particular test , there was no options avalable for settings, and used setting were chosed automatically for all cards. So don't take those results as granted.

I read this article and didn't think it worth posting as the game is Alpha, and not even close to being optimised. I still feel the same :D

If I walk outside and anyone tries to tell me its rain, I will stand up and correct them that it certainly is not rain, oh but the sky is falling down and pretty soon those droplets of sky will turn to fire and we will all be doomed. (no pun intended)

I played the alpha and it was hard locked @60fps not possible to change like past games on this engine..

In the alpha I couldn't change or see what settings it was using but it looked stunning and on my 290 it was locked at 60fps.

The final game will almost certainly be locked to 60fps on PC since it uses the id Tech engine, just like Rage and Wolfenstein. I very much doubt the alpha would be locked if anything had changed.

the funny thing is i played doom 4 and i benched it :D benchmarks just trash lol.

amd 7970 is quicker than 2x980 gtx LOL

970gtx at 1080 60 fps capped
