Happy New Year!

Over Christmas I got a new SSD and straight away popped this in my pc to use as my boot drive with a clean install of Windows 7 64 Bit.

Since the upgrade I get the occasional error whilst using the computer. Every now and then the screen will freeze for about 7-10 seconds, then flash black and a little notification comes up saying the AMD Driver has stopped responding and has recovered.

It doesnt do it that often but its driving me mad. It happens mostly whilst browsing and general playing around but also occasionally during game play.

Currently running the most up to date Catalyst Drivers, 11.12. Tried rolling back to 11.11 and 11.10 but no luck :(

My Specs are in my Sig, any help would be marvelous! :D

Have you overclocked the gpu?

Well had a slight overclock with the Trixx Program but have removed this now and still getting the same issues..

I would try uninstalling the drivers, using driver sweeper in safe mode to ensure all traces of AMD drivers are gone and then reinstalling.

I used to on occasion suffer from this error, but since using this procedure to install new drivers a few months ago I don't believe I have seen the error again.

well i have just cleaned everything with driver sweeper. Bit reluctant to use 11.12 again, is it worth trying a previous version?

ive got a 6970 and its constantly doing it, only looking on the internet too! ive tried 11.11 and 11.12. both do the same thing. barely usable PC at the moment. will try the preview driver see if that helps, really irritating me.

Go down the nvidia route's the best advise. wont be going with AMD again until they can sort the many issues with their drivers out.
