Ive been looking for a nice low power duron or barton M for a while now, especialy the Duron mobile 1ghz .. as that was like.. the coldest socket A iver ever seen.. pm if anyone fancys selling

Made lots of cash around the Duron 800, very nippy in its day and was my bread and butter when doing a school job of 50 pcs one year, coupled with 512Mb and an A7V pro, deskstar 40Gb, it was bloody quick :D

Same here too, it was our standard chip for SME customers for well over a year - great for general usage and loadsa potential.

my duron was used as cannon fodder for my phase cooler and it survived the testing although now a little sticky from the dialectic grease

My Duron was pencil modded, clocked and killed...
Never liked them but compared to the Celerons of the time they were a competitive product.
Funny comparing the budget range we have today to the ones from time gone by. We've got it really good these days. :)

After checking my Socket A CPUs I have found the following Durons

700, 750, 800, 900, 1000, 1100, 1200 and 1300 - All 100FSB

And one of the new 1600's !

Dont know why I got that one, I suppose it was really to replace the Thunderbird 1400 perhaps?

Anyway, Im sure they are all working... I should check them out and see about getting some ££ for them perhaps?

I've got an 800MHz Duron Mobile CPU sitting on my desk from an old laptop I ripped apart years ago! Also got a Athlon 64 3200+ too.

i saw a duron not long back in a meuseum, i think they were comparing it to a sinclaire ZX Spectrum.

honestly though, funnily enough the duron processor is one of those processors that i never actually owned.
