** AMD EXTEND 295 X2 MEGA CHRISTMAS DISCOUNT FOR ONE MORE WEEK!! **

What do you mean 'maybe beat it'?
The AMD people were constantly moaning that the 980 didn't add any performance to last Gen, if AMD do the same I think some heads will explode!

I know zero about what AMD have next as it's way to early to know anything yet so I'm not gonna make any false claims, so right now anything is a maybe.

AMDMatt do you think my Corsair AX860 could cope with Trfire with a 295X2 and a 290? :3 I have the watts monitored and my system isn't even drawing enough to make the PSU fan spin at load (80% according to the manual). I'm pulling about 580w at the wall when gaming or running 3D mark. So that's like nearly 300w left over ^_^

Maybe I can't justify the expense of another 295X2 buuuut.... I saw some Trifire benchmarks earlier with the above setup and was impressed :D

5820k. Really you think a 290 would draw more than 280w? Shame.

Edit: Looks like a 290 draws 230w max. But if you furmark it will go up to 300w. So this would be tight.

Edit: That's what she said.

It might work, but I'd probably recommend a 1000W SuperFlower PSU just to be safe.

If it helps, I just ran a couple of maxed out gaming benches with a 3970x @4.4/ ~1.35v with cards at stock.

Tomb Raider avg around 780W.
Sleeping Dogs (ze test of doom) avg around 950W

Peaks were obviously a bit higher.
