** AMD FRIDAY: ROUND TWO DING DING, POWERCOLOR SMASHING IT UP!! **

If you were blaming mining, why didn't you go on a rant about that. But, no you were blaming AMD, that's why most of your post was about AMD been way with out with pricing, that AMD should have Vega at these prices months ago and, specifically talking about pricing, that AMD are always a step behind.

And it's not funny at all, and easily explained. The reason you got a 1060 for £230 was because it was the 3GB version, and became useless for Ethereum mining earlier this year. And the reason the 580 was £400 was because they were still in demand for mining at that time, even though that was on the decline.
I would not have purchased a 580, 390, 480 regardless of price like wise I would not have purchased a 1070 or a 1050 so that left me with a make do card for £230 or a 1080 for £600 like I said if this deal was going on months ago I would buy one but now not a chance, the same can be said for the 1080ti if that was £599 I would have got that back then but now with new cards launching not a chance.

So yeah I’m blaming mining back then for both Amd and Nvidia and now I’m blaming Amd because it’s not worth £450 now to me, just like the 10xx range is not worth it anymore.

None of Nvidia’s offerings are worth it ‘to me’ anymore either but as this thread is a reduction / special deal on Amd’s Cards I commented on this Topic only.

V64 between 350 and 400 is where they need to be. Amazing card at an amazing price.

Why would AMD ever do that.

We've known forever that Vega costs more for AMD to make than the equivalent Nvidia cards. Undercutting with a more expensive product that has no major advantage is how you completely **** yourself.

It's not as if AMD is against undercutting when the tech and costs work out, their entire CPU line is at it right now.

So Vega is linked to Nvidia pricing of similar performance cards (when mining isn't going nuts) and Nvidia has zero reason to lower theirs.

It costs $200 for the HBM ram, why sell them at loss? The product is better than the equivalent £500 GTX1080 yet you demand from AMD to lower the prices?
The £1100+ RTX2080Ti is biting now eh? No worries, the pain will ease with time.

AMD should be concerned about the 2060/70. Forget everything else

In my smallish group of friends IRL that have pcs and online friends here, there and everywhere, there are quite a few waiting for Vega64 to drop under £400 for a purchase. If they aren't selling, and they might not sell when Nvidias new line up drops then its time to drop the we aren't a budget brand anymore thinking. They are already making a loss, might as well make a slightly larger loss but shift more sales in doing so. The Vega line will be left behind over the next year or so, there's no doubting how good the card is, but we all know ppl are brainwashed towards Nvidia.

Yet the cards sell very well according to Gibbo so doubt there is going to be any price cutting. Stock will go, probably no more cards will be made, and thats were it ends for this year.

When you have people at the other thread buying GTX1070Ti even today, which is at similar price to the Red Devil, clearly regardless the price cuts AMD wont sell to them.

It's a bit Irish blaming AMD because they didn't fit into your update Schedule? Back when you bought the 1060 mining was still strong on the AMD side of things. It's only since end of May, June that things have slowed down. AMD even made a statement to that effect that they were expecting no revenue from mining in Q3, hence the price reductions now.

I didn't know we had a reputation for bashing AMD.

Good video here where Elon talks about the whole pricing and industry thing for cars/tech in general, relate-able to GPUs industry too and he even uses that as an example, funny thing is, as we all know and I've said time and time again, tech. should be getting cheaper over time, except GPUs have only gone up.... :o Yes our pound value is crap, which doesn't help matters but it's not as bad as what some like to make out.

Also, was there not a video shown here lately where the 1080 still wins in the majority of games whilst being more power efficient? (and inb4, but you can downclock, undervolt etc. etc., maybe, but this isn't a guarantee and not every card can achieve clocks etc. where it will be more power efficient than a 1080.....)
