Welcome all,
Next week I am planning on buying a corsair 600T white edition as I am not content with my current case's cooling capabilities, with that I will also be buying a Corsair Hydro Series H80i CPU cooler as I am equally not content with the stock cooler on my AMD FX4170. I am quite a big fan of Battlefield 3 which I know is a CPU heavy game, and my friend can run it on ultra at 60 fps+ with a GTX 660ti and i7 3770k. I have a GTX 660 Superclocked which is almost equal to the ti in my understanding. What I wanted to know was if I could overclock my current 4170 and to what speed? (Stock and current clock is 4.2 GHz) What sort of performance gains are we talking? Also, I have a 550W PSU which may be upgraded to 700-800, but I don't like to make assumptions because I will be getting the cash boost because it's my bday. Now I know that overclocking is never gonna make up for a mediocre CPU, but I will not have enough money for a new CPU and motherboard, along with new case + CPU cooler. I am planning on getting an i7, but that will come later. Anyway, I've waffled too much, any help is welcome :)
Cheers
