AMD Kaveri APU Arriving For Desktop PCs in Q4 2013 – Kaveri Graphics Demonstrated With New Virtual R

Oh I understand it alright. Seems there are others who get irked by your posting habits - this time nothing to do with me. :D

He has stated that he will be changing a haswell i7 4770k cpu for an apu with cross fire 7990's.

I would keep the haswell it may not have been the upgrade people had hoped for but its still the best all round cpu.

I would say the kaveri is interesting but mainly in the per clock performance of the steamroller chips (just a shame its not the full 8 core steamroller desktop cpu :( )

Ferrari your benchmarks will definitely be interesting.

He's not irked, he's said if anyone said that Kaveri would be an upgrade to Haswell, he'd flame them too.
If people get irked by completely vendor unbiased posting, that's not my fault, wait, I'm lying, I dislike Nvidia and I don't exactly like Intel either.

Back OT, so they are planning to release steamroller on AM2+ boards - we have seen some appearing through the vendors but any information on the APU's?

The APU's are the only ones we have information on.
They're coming on FM2+, 2-4 steamroller core configs with IGP's on their back.

But that still doesn't fit with what you've posted, but nvm.

We don't know anything yet, we know even less for AM3+'s Steamroller 8 cores.

All we know is FM2+ boards are coming soon, Kaveri may or may not be delayed to the end consumer, it may come Q4 2013, it may come Q1 2014.

We don't know pricing, except the boards are looking decently high end.

FM2+ boards are already available, just not at OCUK yet.

This is why I was wondering if some information about the APU release was out there. If you can provide the boards surely they are not far off?

Am I having a stroke.
Trust message me linkies.

As long as it's not another AM3+ thing, hopefully we should see Kaveri chips in Q4, which starts in a few days.

EDIT : Found one at the rainforest.

Peculiar.

What is it with this like always happening with AMD lol, just like Trinity laptops >.<

Expect a soft launch in November's APU13 conference. Wouldn't be surprised if FM2+ boards are being held back til then to clear inventories of FM2 stuff.

Screw that, expect them to be in the shops last week :D

It's Trinity Laptops all over again.

I wonder how this launch is meant to go officially lol.

AMD needs to get the 290X out of the way before Kaveri. But as the boards are appearing in shops I don't think it'll be 2014 now - but if it is, then very early 2014.

It's not really different.
AMD with AM3+ gave us a slide with an event, saying AM3+ launches today, and then CPU's would come within 60-90 days.

It wasn't till over 120 days passed that the CPU's launched :p

Either way, all we can do is wait.
