Hey guys

I'm looking to build a new htpc rig that is powerfull enough to play games on as well . I already have purchased the case which is a zalman 503 hd . The question is do I build a llano based rig or wait for trinity to be released in October ?

Or do I build an intel based rig ?

My budget is about £500 and would like a decent processor , gfx and Ssd for boot .

Thanks

Ok so trinity looks like it is worth waiting for :p but how much heat do u think the 65w a10 will produce ? As I was hoping to make my rig silent with a corsair h60 if it will fit

When are they to actually be released?
I know HP have a few desktop PCs with desktop Trinity chips, not sure if they are in the UK yet though?
Would like to see an ITX motherboard and the chip available to buy for Joe Public.

Would make an excellent low power, small PC.

I'm waiting for Trinity as well :(

Hopefully they are priced very competitively and clock like hell with something like a H80 :D

Trinity are supposed to released on the first of October :( I'm just hoping that you can add an extra gfx card to boost performance for games like you could llano ;)

Wait for Trinity and get some fast DDR3 :D

Seriously impressed with this A10 4600M (7660G) so the desktop variant should be awesome for budget gaming/media etc

Now if they had a 35W trinity, then it would be perfect for a HTPC. Talking passive/heatpipe cooling

They will have 35W trinity, and already have 35W llano, but unfortunately they are mobile chips and AMD dont seem to realize there is a place in the market for these in a retail form. Leaving only <18W or 65W> choices to a htpc builder.

Been waiting awhile to upgrade my old Athlon x2 4800 media centre. Looks like I be going for the A8 quad core for light gaming too at those prices. Hope the motherboards will be price reasonably.
