AMD "Never Settle" 12.11 Driver - benchmarks

i see what you're saying Greg but it could have been average frame times - if they were more consistent this could have been it.

as far as minimums - i can still get my 7970 down into the 30s at 1125/1575, when i c4 a tank etc.

apart from that though 80s/90s

XBMC doesn't seem to like these drivers, it bugs out and all the menu text etc disappears. Can be worked around by running it in xp sp3 compat mode though.

these drivers are running like a dream apart from one small thing.

If I open something in notepad and start scrolling through it my cards clocks back up to full speed (instead of the 150/300 idle/2d clocks) and the temp rises a bit and fans speed up.

anyone had similar or have a fix?
Sapphire vapor-x 7950

I've had to dial back my overclock so much as its just not needed any more.

1200/1823 has now become 1094/1563 and this is still overkill.

Does anyone have issues with loading CCC on the Beta 4 of 12.11?

I'm currently on 12.10 as I can't get CCC to open whenever I install 12.11.

This is will a full uninstall (and DriverSweeper) + clean install. Also tried a dirty install (over the top) and nothing. I have .net4 installed so it's not that!

Any one else having an issue where your monitors won't go into sleep/standby?
They just go "black" but still powered on.

Good Grief.... its nice that AMD are working hard on the Drivers, but how many new Driver sets in a month?

You know what would be fun? another performance bump, lets say +10% overall? :D

Edit- this is just far to much to resist....

The thing is unless you want to play those games you don't need to install them.

Uninstalled the Beta4s and went back to 12.8, idle clocks were annoying and I was getting weird stuttering in BL2.

Do these drivers refelect positively or poorly on the AMD development team? 7X00 series cards have now been available for 10 months. They took flak inititially for being being too expensive and not that much faster than 6900 cards clock for clock. Then they took flak for being slower than NVidia's much cheaper to produce GTX 6x0 cards. If they had released decent drivers on day 1, sales surely would have been much better with fewer people waiting for the green teams new lineup.#

Why has it taken AMD 10 months to produce drivers which should have been available at launch?
