Some manufactures are voltage locking the GPU's but its usually only the Boost or Ghz editions, and MSI were not thought to be one of them.

I would ask about it on MSI's forums.

7970 users @ 1440p using 12.11, how is battlefield 3 performance? Can i expect to run full ultra with my 7970 overclocked smoothly or is it a bit of a stretch?

Bit of a stretch for an FPS game depending on how low you can go

If you drop MSAA (less of a big thing at high res) then you'll be fine.

I'm graphics whore no1 rusty.

I can live with x2 aa but no aa hmmm.

Can't find any reviews which show 7970 1440p bf3 performance on 12.11.

However i did find a ghz edition 1600p review which said 48 minimum 65 average. I can clock my memory much higher than a ghz edition card and the core slightly higher.

I'm optimistic that it will be ok. As long as minimums stay above 50 i think ill run full ultra. :cool:

You can't create gaming profiles with these, something else is in there preventing you from creating a gaming profile, so stick to 12.11 Beta 7 if you require gaming profiles.

I really hope they hurry up and finalise the 12.11 drivers as with the betas I get this weird intermittent screen flicker issue. Everything works fine with the 12.10s.

It has been four weeks since the last beta update.

I'm going to ask him when we can expect to see the new memory management drivers as well should he fail to mention that when he updates tomorrow.

It would be great if ocuk could get their own AMD rep. (at least on the gpu side, no one cares about the cpu's)

Yes, an AMD rep here would be fantastic, mayby send thracks a PM and ask him if we can have one, this must be one of the most frequented UK OC forms.

They would do well to have a rep here, especially as we test, bench, compare and fault find ourselves as ordinary users.

I tried the 12.11 beta11, with and without CAP2 a while back (fresh install). Didn't like them, my 5770 would only fold @40%. If you're GPU folding stick with the 12.10's. You'll get the same advice from foldingforum.

Best person to ask to get an AMD Rep on this forum is Gibbo, he has a fantastic relationship with AMD as he does with all his vendors.
