This is pretty cool !

AMD Virtual Tour

Takes a bit to download, im on a 10mb BB connection, took about 3 to 4 minutes, but there's loads of neat stuff in it.

There's virtual Booths for Sun, Microsoft, HP, IBM, Oracle, etc etc.

Nice dig at Intel's QX series (Core 2 Quad) there. What he neglected to mention is that that approach is a stepping stone to 'true' Quad Core for Intel as well, and it's also 9 months earlier out of the door than AMD's offering.

PS - I'm no Intel fanboy, before anyone suggests otherwise.

I just ignore the whole AMD vs Intel / ATi vs nVidia crap. AMD will come up with something that will overtake Intel and ATi's new R600 will probably overtake the nVidia 8800. I really dont see how anyone could be a fanboy of any of those comanies when they are only the "best" for about 6 months at most! :p

Swings and Roundabouts!

Indeed

plus in the back of my hazy memory I seem to remember AMD winning the race to the 1GHz mark - and that was when 1GHz actually meant something :p

what did Intel release after they hobbled over the finish line? the willamete :o say no more! :D

Seems to me almost every presentation i watched concluded with 'omg t e h leet opteron is t e h best'.
Which was kinda annoying after a while. Interesting nevertheless.

I've never had anything other than amd only because i built my first computer near the beginning of the A64s 3 year reign and my second near the end. If i build one this Christmas as i have the last two it would be core 2 duo.

In an industry with only two major players you can't afford to be picky imo.

Just out of interest, how does one prevent the filter from filtering t e h without having to use spaces?

Didn't spot that. What a useless piece of censoring software that can be fooled by that.

Thanks anyway, just something i had been wondering. :)

Btw, i happened to stumble upon a mention of your little robot, i think it was in a picture of your car, and i'm quite intrigued. Did you build it yourself completely from scratch?
