AMD Quadcore

A better cooler will give you more headroom, my Phenom II runs 'cool' at idle just a few 'C above ambient.

Even under load it barely breaks 40'c.

I'm using the OCZ Vendetta II cooler, brilliant piece of kit.
 
yes i think i will go for another cooler the stock coolers must be tested for standard kit is AI Suite the best program for keeping up to date with my temps and when you say yours are running 3.4Ghz mine tells me in Mhz
 
u should run prime95 or OCCT to see if it's stable also it'll give u the full load temp. 3Dmark06 doesn't max the cpu out.

and also don't go over 60c..
 
when i ran prime95 my cpu temp went to 53c my MB was 38c and that was at 800000 but after that on under normal load it goes between 42-50c i think im definatly in need of a better cooler before i do anything ealse
