In short OcUK is one of two UK Etail partners who have being given direct allocation from AMD on their brand new upcoming R290 X flagship graphics card. We've being allocated a few hundred of these special BF4 Editions by AMD and as such we can guarantee our customers you will be one of the first in the UK with this amazing new card from AMD.

Like I say only two partners in the UK have allocation of the BF4 edition and we shall cease taking DEPOSITS once all our allocation is sold out, so you can rest assured by placing a deposit now you are securing yourselves one of these amazing cards, DON'T MISS OUT, order this product now and you have officially placed your DEPOSIT for the new R290 X edition.

When the card officially launches we shall contact you / request you contact us to pay the remaining fee, which is yet unknown as AMD have not yet released an official price, right now the R290X BF4 edition could be priced anywhere between £400 - £650. When AMD confirm the price we will request you pay us the rest of the money to 100% secure your BF4 edition card.

THIS IS ONLY A DEPOSIT which is refundable if you so wish. The cards are expected mid-end October. :)

If you place a deposit by ordering this product you see here, once the NDA lifts we shall add the five BF4 Editions we are getting from Sapphire, HIS, Asus, MSI and Gigabyte to our website with a confirmed price, at this point we will contact you to pick one of the five product and pay the remaining money owed to us.

Is this "Special Edition" going to be more expensive than the normal editions that follow? Are we actually getting BF4 for free or just buying it on top once the prices come in?

I want the game and most likely (subject to reviews and spec) the card but don't like the way AMD is running this launch!

I reckon approx £20 more than a normal edition, the game is worth £30-£40 I think so still worth it, though not completely free.

'several hundered pounds' ok cool but exactly how much will it be? I imagine most people would need to know that before pre-ordering.

Over 30 pre-orders already, clearly not.

If AMD charge £500, then £401 owing, if they charge £700, then £601 owing. Customer need to expect the worse and if AMD launch at a great price you will be happy. :)

Haha, t'was worth a try!

That is good news... I might even go home early this evening to up my chances slightly. So much for having a half day at work tomorrow! :P

I think we will be OK, when we have pre-sold our allocation I shall remove the ability to order, so whilst you see an order button, get your order placed. :D

However do go home early. ;)

It's still kinda weird about the concept of preordering something without knowing what the end cost's gonna be.

One thing though...is OcUK gonna guarantee that they won't be pricing it above the competitors on launch? Cause I can imagine many people won't be happy if the 290x BF4 Edition launch at competitors for £499.99, and OcUK decide to retail it at £530 and people preordered at OcUK ending up having to cough out £30 extra. Is OcUK gonna price match at all?

Hi there

We shall be within -/+ £15 of competitors, can't say fairer than that, so we could be a little cheaper or a little more expensive. :)

Reason for this is we have just confirmed a couple of our orders and they are now en-route and booked at todays dollar rate, of course our competitor might get a better/worse rate, higher/lower cost so we can never 100% guarantee to be the cheapest.

What we shall aim is to be matching our competitor who actually have product in stock!

We WILL NOT match competitors who are in dream land cooking up their own magical prices who won't be getting any stock.

Hi there

Just to clarify as well, the cards were stocking from Asus, MSI, Gigabyte, Sapphire and HIS shall all be reference design. There will not be an non-reference cards at launch!!

I got my pre order in.

This 290X is supposed to be able to compete with the GTX Titan. But I hope its not £650, thats miles too much. If this thing is £400 ill keep my pre order, but 650 is too much man...

Also Gibbo I selected pickup from store for my shipping as I didnt fancy paying the extra £7 considering this only a deposit. If I do decide to keep the 290X order I have can I just say ill pay whatever it is plus £7 shipping to have it delivered?

Yes.

I think OCUK must know what the price is going to be otherwise how would they have been able to order a shipment of cards (see previous posts). All this hush hush makes me glad my wallet is staying firmly in my pocket....

We can order cards with any price, then when AMD announce the board partner issues us a credit note.

AMD hold all the cards.

Theyll be buying more cards with our deposit money :P 300 x 99 = 30k. Its only logical it is a shame the pricing point isnt released yet but i hope it isnt too extreme but personally ill wait for reviews and a phantom card but i must admit the shrouds do look so good!

Haha that 30k don't make much of a dint in the 1/2 million USD orders I place with board partners. ;)
Remember OcUK is huge now and growing fast, we are moving now over 15,000 cards a quarter, all mainly enthusiast/gaming level too and growing. We have a large SI business too on top of our etail channels, that include our corporate and B2B channels, were growing nicely. Then if you want to add in the business we do in Germany and rest of Europe which is more than what we do. :D

LOL - so there must be a "guide" price at which you ordered off.

I can't wait to see the reviews once the NDA is lifted.

Nope, we know we can sell them all whether they are £700 or £400, so we don't care, we will just buy them all up. :D

Of course we have expressed our feelings about the MSRP to AMD in the hope they will allow us to hit £400-£500 on 290X to end-users as we feel at this price they will sell like absolute hot cakes, above £600 will result in less sales.

As launch stock is just a few hundred, no matter what the final price is, we know they'll be sold very easily due to our customer base. :)

Will it be available for sale on the 15th too when the NDA lifts? :)

I take it you have loads of those in stock, i.e no need to preorder?

No 290s for resale yet, only samples. There is no confirmed NDA lift yet for 290 series.

And how much at the moment ? :)

I have placed a pre-order .
When can I expect the delivery?
Thanks!

Over 200, still a few left spare. :)

We expect to start receiving our BF4 R290X edition late next week or week after. Regular Editions without BF4 most likely end of October.
