I just inadvertently discovered something after swapping my Cas 9 4 Gb modules back to my Cas 6 2 Gb ones:



My average FPS in the metro benchmark is up by 5!

That is quite a difference, it seems that memory timings do affect gaming performance even on X58. CPU + GPU settings were identical and I did multiple runs both times. My average GPS is up from 30 to 34-35 in every run I do now with the Cas 6 ram.

I know, the max difference always varies between 110-150ish between every run, but the overall score and average stays the same.

This benchmark is silly if you ask me, but its the only one I ran with the different rams installed.

I can only complete single runs with the GPU at 1050 Mhz, it isnt stable enough to get through a second.
