AMD Readies Massive Radeon Software Update with Crimson Relive Drivers – Performance Increases For R

Radeon CHILL is not only for 400 series....is for GCN entirely...

Hopefully, I was reading the smallprint where it states it's compatible with GCN & CG Polaris enabled products but as usual it's a bit muddled as I'm not even sure what it means by the "GCN & CG Polaris enabled" bit.

Looks like a great update

Hope everything goes smoothly for you AMD guys!! :)

Getting the software together, just need some kickass hardware from AMD now and we're set!! :D

Looks like AMDs new marketing is taking effect too. You can see it in there. It's not revolutionary but it's noticeable. Looks smart.

Can see the hook n bait being dropped. Wonder if there will be any bites.

As always AMD releasing nice driver updates. Shame i don't get the same noticeable improvements with my 980Ti :(

Looking forward to trying out the new drivers, though, hopefully the release will run a little smoother than it did with Crimson when that was first released!

Such amazing news, now Freesync will be identical to Gsync, minus the price tag of course

Not quite - its specifically enhancements for borderless fullscreen mode functionality (and like nVidia relies on nasty hacks like forcing certain render flags until/unless MS update WDDM) without additional hardware and/or an update to WDDM will still have some compatibility issues with windowed mode stuff, etc.

Any game from the Windows Store, like Killer Instinct and Gears of War.

Didn't they change/implement fullscreen support amongst many other PC related settings a while ago? Pretty sure I read that there was an update to fix the issues with g/free sync a while ago for gears of wars anyway.

Yet Freesync still works on forza and even other games was patched to support Freesync and Gsync

If that is still the case with no fullscreen support then it might only appear that freesync is working due to the lack of screen tearing because of windows vsync method.

Keeping the promise of good solid driver support. Sounds great to me. Good for you Raja Koduri and the RTG team. Well Done and keep it up.

:D

Nope like I said I have tested this with forza, the first thing I do with any game is leave Freesync off look for screen tear, if I see screen tear I tab out and enable Freesync screen tear is gone.
I do this because some games I have noticed need FRTC to help keep the frame rate in check for freesync to work.
