AMD Readies Massive Radeon Software Update with Crimson Relive Drivers – Performance Increases For R

He's not saying that, he's just saying using 3rd party programs to introduce an extra point of failure in the process when it's not needed is perhaps not the best idea and might be a cause of people's problems. It does seem that the guys who have problems are the ones who have faffed more previously.

Conversely I think drivers are as easy as they've ever been to use. Haven't had a problem in years and I've just installed over the top of the old ones or done a clean install (from within the driver wizard itself) on major changes (crimson launch, relive). Haven't even bothered to reinstall on updating graphics cards.

Just had a 2 hour run on BF1 with the new drivers, and AB/Riva Tuner OSD running and zero issues.
Thats on a single Fury Tri X.

Well I've just run Time Spy on my RX 480 and my score dropped by 40points :) Though GPU is up by 8 and it's the CPU that scored less.

They removed the gamma slider some drivers back, this driver has no saturation, brightness and contrast slider in additional settings now.

GG AMD.. remove basic features why dont you.

Also the recording, on desktop at least.. records slowed down audio.. like 25% of the normal speed.. ridiculous.

Amd did say a while back when Crimson released they will continue add from older driver.
Any of you guys seen what's under custom on the display part? Not at the pc atm to look.

Am not saying I agree with the removal though, should remove once added to Crimson.

Nothing in here works, custom brightness and the other buttons such as Enhanced, Vivid etc, dont do a thing.

New to WattMan (got a Fury), my card needs +25mV to not crash as I've unlocked all the shaders (I presume this is why it failed Fury X binning).

Is there away to set +25mV in WattMan across all states without doing each one individually?

Couple things I have noticed tonight now not sure if just me so like others to confirm.

Mouse on desktop feels more responsive? IDK but too me my mouse feels faster and smoother using 144hz freesync
Alt-Tab out of Fullscreen games is much faster! This defo isn't a Placebo effect

Little test video

Saw this before looked like a big one! Something to cheer me up after finding both my heatsinks are loose, ha. Really wanna try that Chill feature, sounds like there are some great improvements overall. I'll try some 3Dmark runs see if they managed anything there, I'm sure it's already pretty optimised, though

Ok, not tried testing ReLive yet, but there are definately unlisted optimisations in these drivers.

I just reinstalled Doom and on the previous set (16.11.5?) at the very beginning after killing the first 3 creatures I was seeing 69 FPS on my 7950 with my ingame settings including TSAA8x.
I'm now seeing 75-81 FPS in the same place, looking the same way, seeing the same things.

That's a good 10% just since the last driver release, on a clean install of the drivers with nothing particularly tweaked other than my OC reapplied, which was present before anyway!

For reference, what this has meant is I can now play on High settings, 16x AF, 8x TSSAA on Doom in Vulkan, and rarely drop below 60FPS, whereas before I'd be wanting to run medium to ensure this, its virtually eliminated the performance hit moving from medium->high or lessened it to the extent I was not seeing much higher performance before on Medium!

Nvidia now need to up their game, Sound recording quality can be set higher in Re-Live and it's recording impact on FPS is lower than Shadowplay.

Come on Nvidia time to get competitive in the software scene.
