ROCm doesn't work on RDNA3; thats what the whole original link was about. It works on RDNA2 and to a lesser extent RDNA1.

Is it the product segmentation house of cards finally crashing down?
Still even with this AMD is going to have some way to catching up with Nvidia. The Nsight profiler is really good and I believe ROCm/HIP still doesn't support dynamic parallelism (which to be fair is probably less relevant to ML workloads but is still a gap). Although their real problem is not having first class support in ML libraries like PyTorch and Tensorflow.
