AMD RX 6000 Series UK Pricing ?

I think the 6900 XT isn't worth the extra money. Those who want more performance than the RX 6800 XT should probably wait until 5nm GPUs (Q4 2021?), for a large step up in GPU performance, whilst reducing power consumption.

Or... Buy a cheap RX 6000 series GPU, then upgrade when 5nm RDNA 3 becomes available... Still not clear if/ when AMD will release a 40 CU part (similar to the 5700 XT). Or desktop GPUs with the same Compute Unit counts as their console counterparts.

For some reason, the idea of buying a low end (stop gap) new part makes people groan a lot on these forums :p

I'd rather buy a 1400 long term card than an 800 quid stop gap... Regardless of team. ;)

Even if the RTX 3090 and RX 6900 XT are only 5-10% faster than the product below them? At potentially twice the price, in other words, diminishing returns.

If AMD and NV do GPUs with fewer Compute Units / Shaders, these should be available for £400 or less, based on the RTX 3070 FE RRP price (£469).

Yes. All down to what you want personally. I hope AMD pull it out of the bag as keen to go team Red but will wait and see what reviews of 6800xt say tomorrow. Interesting day for all.

Oh well, I'd expect the RX 6900 XT stock situation will be fairly dire (assuming lower yields than the rest of the series), so this would take the decision out of consumer hands.

I hope NV and AMD in 2020 aren't forcing the PC market to become more elite than it already is, by declining to release mid-low end GPUs... So far, all the GPUs we've seen are geared towards gaming at 4K, even the RTX 3070, when only a fraction have 4k monitors...

I have a 4k monitor brought 2-3 years ago and have ran it at 1080p resolution because the GPU perf. is just too far behind.

It won't be great. All we know is that OCUK has more than 35 units of each type of 6800 available.

The lower the stock of high end products, the greater the rarity, and therefore perceived value to consumers.
Surely there is limited allure in that regard in respect of a piece of tech like this being churned of a production line? Don’t see the appeal of paying more at all....
