Its my son's PC and he has a AMD R9 390 8GB in it atm so doesn't use the on board one anymore.

how comes he would need a new gpu?

I think the assumption was that you were using the 2200g for VGA as well, hence if you upgraded it you'd need a new graphics card.

Until recently he was using the gpu from the 2200g but as he wanted to play the division 2 the on board wasn’t going to cut it. This was at the time using a hdmi port on the mobo.

If you can wait AM5 isn't a bad shout, bear in mind DDR5 might be expensive and not that much quicker than DDR4 initially.

Well there where such incredible value until the massive price increases..... 22.5% rise in the 3300x .... so glad I got mine on preorder

What a surprise...the price has gone up.

Thankfully still lower priced elsewhere. At the price they are selling them here you might as well get a 3600.

Sorry, I was having a bad blonde moment, I thought the 3300x had a built in gpu but after double checking it doesn’t.

It’s the 3400g that has the built in gpu!
