Oh I’ve seen some special efforts like a fully inserted stick of DDR4 in a DDR3 slot. I’m sure the gorilla that managed that would get that socket buttoned up no problem at all.

Oh I’ve seen some special efforts like a fully inserted stick of DDR4 in a DDR3 slot. I’m sure the gorilla that managed that would get that socket buttoned up no problem at all.
There is a whole bunch of reports popping up, not just Reddit, I've seen about 20 in the last month. They are almost all on same/similar model ASRock or Asus 870 boards, there is also 1-2 with MSI and 1-2 Gigabyte, one of those being the case linked above, where the most likely cause looks like user error.
I'm guessing something in the BIOS is overcooking them and/or people following the same junk "optimisation" guide for those boards or something as so far there doesn't seem to be any problems showing up in retail returns.

My case is a complete mess of cables, as it doesn't have any routing channels or behind the panel.
Who cares, but I just pushed them to the side, and used twisty wraps to hold them together.
