Hi there

So first of all let me wish you good luck for tomorrow.
So another launch and another shape, due to time constraints and how crazy busy we are from the 9070 GPU launch, we knocked something together a little quicker, but scroll down to see our impressive traditional pyramid. We did plan to build a 3D pyramid as we have enough stock to do so (several hundred) but time constraints meant we kept it simpler.

We know tomorrow demand will far outweigh initial supply of these chips, so you will need to be quick to secure one, please read buyers guide below.

Anti BOT/Script Measures in place:
As such we are also trialling some new measures to help keep the website alive and also stop BOTS/Scripts from placing an order, in short to make it clear:
  • 1pc per customer
  • UK & Ireland ONLY customers ONLY
  • Website will start blocking known BOT locations, so were only getting genuine UK traffic
  • A new queuing system is been implemented so when customers are on the website it remains responsive for a smoother checkout experience
  • Various other traffic calming and anti BOT measures are in place
  • Once stock sells out, we will continue to take PRE-ORDERS and the price won't change, hopefully this will help deter any scalpers. However if pre-orders go insane, as in several thousand we will have to stop taking pre-orders
  • We have several hundred in stock, but we expect the stock to sell within minutes. When they sell out, 20-40 minutes later we shall re-list on pre-order so you have not missed out but those ordering on pre-order will have to wait several weeks until they get their processor. So ONLY order if your happy to wait, we will work very hard to fulfil orders as quickly as possible.

Ordering Advice for quickest checkout process:
  • Be signed into your account or have your details ready to copy and paste in
  • Pay using a debit/credit card
  • DO NOT use Amazon, or finance (AMAZON PAYMENTS WILL BE DISABLED, it simply causes too many issues)
  • DO NOT order anything else with your order, just the GPU
  • Select DPD Next Day shipping
  • Download the DPD App, updating your preferences and information
  • Join the forums and/or Discord channel for stock updates and information
  • Do not reach out to customer service for more information, unless you have critical amends needed for your order
  • Setup an OcUK account and sign in, do not checkout as a guest and ensure your emails from us are not going into your SPAM folder.

SUMMARY:

All products shall go live available for order around 14:00 tomorrow, so do be checking the website around that time, do not hammer F5!

I wish you the best of luck and here is a picture of the AMD pyramid built by our marketing department

Oh and to ensure we ship every order out tomorrow we take, we have already pre-packaged the majority of the CPU's ready to ship out:

So rest assured if you manage to order one tomorrow, you will get it Thursday. :)

Any clue on pricing? MSRP in the US is $699. With currency currently at £1 = $1.2964 that makes it around £540+vat so should be £648 or maybe slightly less.
So £200 more for same (sometimes slightly worse) performance than 9800x3d, with higher power draw. Sounds like a winner

Price of 9950x in the official AMD store is EUR 661.00. That is GBP 556.96 (with vat). You can get it from a certain well-known purple store for GBP 529 at the moment.
Overclockers sells it for GBP 599.99, that is GBP 40 over the ''MSRP''.
9950x3d UK MSRP should be GBP 649. Since OCUK is known for overpricing I would expect a price of GBP 699 to 729.

Someone posted a screenshot of a confirmed order from the orange supplier (put their orders up to early today before quickly taking down) and the price for the 9950x3d was £779.99!

Google Reddit post on 9950x3d pricing for the screenshot

Known for overpricing?

They where selling the 9800X3D for £450 when other resellers where pushing £500+

Granted in the end it went up in price but was the cheapest place to buy it from for awhile.

Thank you. :)

Sometimes it is possible, sometimes it is not.

On the 9800X3D we had a load of stock land in our warehouse at an extremely good dollar rate and from a distributor that in the words of forum members never gouges (by this I mean they will normally make 1-3% on us, but some distributors in shortage will of course make a couple of extra points margin wise). Then when AMD set the UK MSRP they set it after our stock had landed and used a poorer exchange rate, which gave us some breathing room.

As such for 9800X3D everything aligned perfectly in our favour.
To give you some inside info we have never been able to buy 9800X3D that cheap since, even though the pound is even stronger now of course all distributors are making a healthier 3-5% margin on the parts instead of under 3% and of course ourselves are making fair margin, we are not gouging unless you consider single digit margin gouging and we are still very competitively priced on 9800X3D. :)

However on 9900X3D and 9950X3D I warn you guys now majority of our stock arrived a few weeks ago when the rate was 1.26-1.27 and the distributors have made no errors and as such we won't be able to hit MSRP, we won't be far off. :)

AMD just sent us this:

Dear Partner,

Please be aware that the US clocks changed last week and the embargo lifts today at:
Sales & Ad Embargo lift date: March 12, 2025 – 9 AM ET 13:00 UK and 14:00 CET

The 9950X3D has my attention. I'll wait a while but the itch might need scratched to replace my 5950x
