AMD Shares Update On Frame Latency - 13.2 Beta

MASSIVE improvements, well done AMD devs !

Indeed, this is even without the memory management re-write which is coming later. These are simply CAP tweaks. However now we have to begin the wait, its gonna be at least a week probably longer.

NOOB?!!
I have more post than you! You young whippersnapper!

On topic though.
So they're going to fix an issue that's a non-issue as such? I certainly haven't noticed anything.

:D Not by much!

On topic, yeah i have to admit ive not really noticed any stutter either, but i don't play Skyrim or Borderlands 2. Farcry 3? Sure there is a small amount of stutter in that, hopefully that gets fixed. Can't wait to try out the new memory management drivers, that sounds like its a few weeks off though.

You hope so. ;)

I'm not worried if it's today or tomorrow really. :)

/Off topic I have sent you a couple of emails.

Now we know whats to come im not that excited about 13.1. If it has the farcry 3 fix though then that will be a pleasant surprise. The 13.2, or even 13.3 with memory management drivers will be where its at

Replied. ;)

Hope your wrong bud, I'm looking for the CrossFire checkerboard OSD bug sorted that appeared in the 12.11's.:(

Is that only on farcry 3? I have that corruption bug, it happens a lot around Amaki Village when you step out of your hut. I've heard that a possible fix is to disable 'uplay in game'. Though ive not had chance to try this yet myself.

It happens with other titles too matt, wouldn't be a problem as you can switch off the osd in AB and use your phone/tablet instead, but, Tridef(3D) uses an osd that can't be disabled, so it's a pita.

Afaik, the bug happened early on in the 7 series drivers, was fixed, but reared it's ugly head in the 12.11's.

Waiting on a fix so I can get back to the island again, fingers crossed it was just an oversight putting the beta together.

If it's not fixed, I will give the uplay disabling bit a go, thanks for the tip mate. :)

I'd ask Thracks if he's aware of the issue on the other forum Tommy, if he's not you should submit a bug report.

Submitted a bug report on testing the 12.11's straight away, a few guys in the other forum posted up about it already, hopefully, he saw it.

Ah furry muff then. I do see a checker board thing myself in farcry 3, i guess thats the same thing.

I noticed it occurred over vegetation or when driving for me when it did happen. Setting 2x (down from 4x) msaa stopped that for me iirc.

I notice it when there's lots of vegetation or when you leave your hut in Amaki Village at the start. I don't use AA though at 1440p and i still get it. Not tried to disable uplay though, will try it later.

RadeonPro has not won me over yet. I wouldn't ever want vsync disabled so i see no point in using it. Most games have triple buffering anyway (apart from farcry and black ops 2 it would seem) and any that don't i just use the trusty old D3D over rider. Plus RadeonPro doesn't have an fps limiter per say, all it does is disable vsync if fps drop below a certain point. I find using vsync, triple buffering and a fps cap of 58 provides latencies between 17ms and 25ms in all the games i play. I don't think you can get much better than that no matter what you use. Farcry 3 is the exception to that, but its problems are well documented.

Radeonpro does have frame limiter mate, it's called Dynamic Framerate Control.
Set the vsync to double and then enable dfc and set it to 60 or 120 and enjoy even smoother game play :-)

What about if you want it to set to 58fps and for vsync to never disable. Is that possible? Cos when i tried it, it didn't work. FPS stayed at 60.

Sure this method isn't dynamic vsync. Enable double vsync then under Dynamic Framerate Control set 58 :-)

Nope, doesn't work. Next! Frame rate was at 59.9-60.

You might need to enable normal vsync then not double or dynamic.

Always on doesn't work, and neither does dynamic. Until it has an fps limiter rather than DFC then i won't switch. All DFC does is disable vsync when fps drops below a certain number which you specify. It does not lock the fps to a certain number.

Try driver default, then set 58 and disable in game vsync does it work then?
DFC is a frame limiter. I like using double vsync and set DFC to 60 this feels best to me.

No, doesn't work. Show me a screenshot of a game menu, sleeping dogs for example where you have limited your fps using RadeonPro only to 52 fps.

Did you create a profile or are you using the global setting? I will try to copy your settings. Are you on windows 8?

Yeah it doesn't work. I've no idea why, copied your settings exactly. I loaded sleeping dogs and disabled vsync after doing all that and fps went up to 120, so it doesn't look like its working at all. I give up, spent ages trying to get this working last time. :D This is a fresh windows install as well, only did it a week or so back. I'll go back to msi afterburner fps limiter.

Thanks shankly. :)

@matt, you haven't got any other tools on automatic startup like AB/Riva overriding Rpro have you?

That is very strange mate?? maybe try removing RadeonPro and re-install? not sure why it not working for you.

You have other programs running in back ground maybe conflicting with RP?

I disabled afterburner before my final attempt and left just fraps running, still didn't work. Have you got it working as well tommy?

My guess matt you have something conflicting with RP. Try this in RadeonPro settings and sounds enable one for profile loaded and one for profile error. Start up a game and listen for the sound and see if the profile is in fact getting loaded.

I don't see a settings and sound option?
