AMD Starfield codes - when will we get them?

Why do I get a feeling he does not have a 2.5gb network port on his pc therefore ends up at the same speed as me. I could be wrong though :p

You just couldn't resist from forcing my hand. :P

Unlike many I actually have TWO 2.5Gb ports on my Asus router (and of course one on the motherboard)

So getting 1.2Gb is normal fare. ;)

I'm just letting you know I have NOT prayed to the internet gods that you have an outage in your area just as you go to download Starfield! ;)

I've already preloaded mine in ~10min and you should be aware that the whole extra two minutes longer that it will take you will of course give you sleepless nights!

Got mine activated and showing up in Steam, like others have said, it's saying not available until the 6th so I'm hoping that it does go live at 1am.

What I'm trying to figure out is whether to pre-load or if it'd take longer to unpack than if I wait until then and download it on my poverty spec 400mbps connection (500mb package but my router is old and only manages around 400!)

This one hugely depends on your CPU & the drive you've downloaded the game to. I'm a little worried that my 5800x3D is going to be a little slower compared to if I had a regular 5800x.

Maybe I should see this as a sign and upgrade to a 7700x or one of the newer Intel 14th gen CPUs...

My advice is get it now while it's relatively quiet rather than leave it later just on the off chance the servers are a bit overloaded.

I can't think why your 5800X3D shouldn't be more than fine - probably better than the 5800X, so I'd keep your wallet closed for now... we'll see soon enough. ;)

When I get a chance I will post my speedtest results ;)

Here is mine. Look at the difference in pings!

By the way, the upload latency is usually in the 20's. That was just an anomaly :p

Any Linux users had luck with verifying their hardware? I've ordered an eligible product but it appears that I will need to use AMD's Product Verification Tool to verify my system. I know that it says this offer is only for Windows systems, but I'm hoping they're using Windows as an umbrella term for PC given that it'll be a Steam verification code. I'll be preparing a dual-boot just in case.
