AMD THREADRIPPER VS INTEL SKYLAKE X

8 pack head is always in the clouds a dream world, don't worry.

yes Intel clocks well, cool the Overclockers out their will buy it, it doesn't mean its a good range of CPU's
De-lidding is not perfectly safe & the tool for x299 is not finalized, their was a video just a few days ago stating that.

8 pack cares about Performance and not about money, that is fine for the 2% of Benchers & media that get their chips for free. yes Intel will be faster, doesn't make it better.

In the real world people buy their Chips, Then will they void Warranty, by de-lidding i doubt it.

as for that video he posted, the guy said why all the negative press around x299? maybe because performance/core vs value?

Lot of these people who bench only care about performance that's fine, but the same people can not say what are the negatives about x299 or this not about the money, when they get handed chips to them by Sponsors.

real people pay for their products...

Exactly, my place of work uses a lot of CAD we have over 100 5 axis CNC machines.
Theres a CAD computer next to every single machine we are not going to buy a 10c when we can get a 16 for the same price.

Many real people by Intel though lol. Market share and all that!!!

It's telling how much free stuff you get when you can't even spell "buy" ;) Regardless, many people voted for Donald Trump. How many people do something is meaningless to how good it is.

The other thing is that the situation with the Intel chips means more opportunities for OC to make money. They'll delid these as they did the 7700k and charge a fortune for them. They will be pushed hard.

You can spell well done Tom. That did not get u lean I suggest a diet would help.

AMD is a good value proposition. But all you guys did not even try and as per usual are the experts. Really strange that. I mean ok when you tried X399 and have a valid point based on fact then please feel free to carry on arguing.

All you have to say is price price price which is fine if that's your priority. It's not mine. Performance and a stable platform are.

soooo looks like the tim is pretty good on skylake x

https://youtu.be/80sEZSODwpw

for those that can't be bothered to watch

1.25v, 4.8ghz on the 10 core 7900x, using a corsair 280mm aio, stock tim.

delidding got him just under 10c (so far less than kabylake) and allowed him to push 5ghz on all cores!

so look like 4.9-5ghz should be easily achievable without delidding on the 6 and 8 cores! possible see 5.1-5.2ghz with a delid much like kabylake ?

I can't understand what all the hate is for. Here we have a 10 core 20 thread cpu clocked at 5.0ghz on an AIO which to me is impressive.

As for the delid people have been doing this for years, yes it's not great that these chips are using TIM but it still doesn't detract from the end result.

^^^ Totally agree!!! Several weeks ago before Kaby everyone wants 5ghz. Now Intel does it on 10C and 12C is very similar then its not even a great achievement.

Kabylake X is phenomenal on air for single thread and unto 8 Thread loads. Yes does not make much sense on this platform but is this not Overclockers forum not ValueForum. #NoLimits

Price isn't your priority because you are not paying for it. Price becomes a factor when you need to buy 100 workstations for a factory.
Stability? Lets talk about your pre binned CPU's
Code:
Guaranteed 5.0GHz core overclock in all none AVX applications. No games use AVX neither do 90% of professional applications
So stable except if you use 10% of professional software? What even is this statement?

der8auer shows this at 1.32v at 90 degrees! How is this going to fare in the real world with machines runnning 24/7 and not in an air conditioned office?

Perhaps the biggest reason for you being pro intel despite the obvious over charging and using a crappy TIM is that you are seeing pound signs in you eyes after you delid and bin these and charge a considerable premium.

people love the amd circlejerk, Intel is the new 'fad ' to hate, like all those retarded "hanging my head in the rain" videos linus/Jayz and pretty kuch every YouTuber is copying now for clickbait.

"oh Intel's using tim haha it sucks, look how good our solder is it can't get us past 3.9ghz! **** your 5ghz chip that works fine with Tim!"

regardless, this has confirmed what I've been saying all along, with the other videos shown skylake x runs temps just fine, and overclocks amazingly, with a 4.8ghz oc you're talking 30% faster core for core than an 1800x for only £100 more with the 7820x, to me that makes the ryzen 7s irrelevant.

to be fair I don't think any business with hundreds or thousands of workstations would consider ryzen or threadripper due to the instabilty, cold boot, ram incompatibility, boards bricking themselves etc. that's why all the big youtubers have said they won't rely on their ryzen machines because of how buggy they are at the minute.
