AMD THREADRIPPER VS INTEL SKYLAKE X

just incase you guys had enough of him :D

Wow... hyperbole much?

Not to judge a book by its cover.. and all that, but, well, he doesn't look like a nerd does he? he looks more like the kind of guy who as kid used to bully nerds at school.... :D

Then again neither does 8pack he looks like someone who would work down a coal mine.

don't tell him I said that though, he would break me like a twig :)

Games on PC are not made for PC and ported to Console, they are made for Console and ported to PC, market shares have nothing to do with it, XXXXX game is made for and designed to run on consoles, AMD hardware, and then made to work on PC, or rather made to work also on nVidia hardware given the hardware the game was made for natively was AMD, the hardware in consoles.
They don't, games development doesn't work like that. Games aren't ported between platforms.

They aren't specifically developed for AMD hardware. They are developed for the APIs that the platform uses. The same goes for PC, they won't developed for AMD hardware just because consoles use that hardware. They are developed for a specific PC API that AMD and nVidia will make hardware that complies with said API.

The reality is that games aren't ported as it isn't how development works, but instead builds for the different platforms are compiled from source that is designed to with with APIs first and foremost.

Having seen this before from AMD where they produce something that is "almost" as fast as a similar product from Intel, but a cheaper price, but just you wait until the top of the range part arrives it will destroy all!

Just to be presented with a power hungry, under performing, incredibly hot running mess, I would hold off making any judgements about how things are going to pan out.

lol the amd 8 core uses less power than intel quads, and comes with a stock cooler :)

I don't know what angle you are going at with that but it actually sounds like Intel, have you seen the 7900X reviews? slower in games than the last generation, uses a huge amount of power and runs hot as hell even under a £150 cooler.
Does well in Multi-threaded productivity work tho.... :D

Sound familiar? Its Intel's Bulldozer.

That's not quite true. In newer games it does very well and even beats out the 7700K in some games and is a fair bit better than a 1800X. It's terrible value of course but that's not a concern for some.

The Guy is the worst reviewer on earth, for a start he hasn't redone any of his Ryzen reviews since all the performance updates... so he's lazy, and he doesn't even know a GPU bottleneck when its slapping him in the face. i don't know why people keep pluging his reviews, seriously he is a terrible reviewer.

Everything here from the 6900K up is bottlenecked.

PcPer did a pretty good job of separating them.... Red is the 7900X, Blue the 6950K.
In most things its on par with the 1800X despite being clocked 500Mhz higher and using twice as much power.

Even without the bottlenecking the 7900 will win there.

Reviews are always terrible when they don't show what we want them to. ;) I don't trust any of them tbh but looking through all of them, the 7900x does better than Ryzen in pretty much everything. It costs more than twice as much of course but a lot of people will just look at the numbers and they shouldn't feel bad about that. Some of us will hang on, let the dust settle and see what's best for us.

lets be honest a lot of people havent updated them since 1.0.0.6 dropped seems the bigger the sites get the less they can be bothered to do a proper job.

You didn't even look at what i'm telling you, just blindly went running to his defence, look at his charts...

He's GPU bottlenecked, just because he can't see it, you can't see it... anyone who knows it when they see it can see it clear as day, all his CPU charts are resulting the same performance where others are getting huge variations, he's bottlenecked by the GPU, so what you are seeing is the GPU performance, not the CPU's.
This is Hardware enthusiast nOOb stuff man, he's an amateur, a really bad one at that.

GPU bottleneck...

Not GPU bottleneck, 7900X in Red, 6950X in Blue, see the difference?
Seriously find a better reviewer to follow, he's crap.
