AMD to bring another performance driver!

What did you want? AMD are adding their version of nVidia's DSR (VSR), AMD are adding support for Freesync (nVidia's G-Sync), AMD are adding performance enhancements upto 20% in some games (nVidia do this all the time).

A bit of a vague question really.

I just feel like, in the last few driver updates there has been not much special, ok MFAA seems good, but sli drivers seem to be slipping a bit.

A few ways to look at this.

The last couple of drivers from Nvidia have been Game Ready drivers, so possibly just not some much performance orientated but more to try to ensure compatibility with certain games.

As Greg has pointed out, was there something you feel you are missing out on.

And of course the funny one.

Wait until the 980/70 is a year old then you will get the big performance boost and extra feature set driver to catch up with whatever AMD are doing. :D:p:D

Greg is hitting the nail on the head i think. How i see the AMD driver is that there were much more room for improvement and they're adding similar features which Nvidia got earlier.

Nvidia drivers tend to be slightly better than AMD and have better scaling and optimisations usually so there isn't as much room for improvment.

AMD are just making a bit of PR with these Omega drivers making them seem amazing. Really they are probably just meeting Nvidia drivers on par.

-edit

could have probably explained that bit better but im tired lol. I'm sure you can understand where im coming from though.

as in when does 980s scale beyond 2 cards and not look like a slideshow.

They scale very well actually all the way up to 4 cards.

@1080p they thrash the 290Xs most of the time.

Their weakness is the performance drops off as you get to 4K but even then they are no slower than the 290Xs.

Neither the 980s or 290Xs are prone to making things look like a slide show either.

3way isnt good even with GK110?

Not in some of the games I have played. It creates a bit of hitching. For instance, Assassin's Creed Unity (not the best example) runs like poo on 3 Titans, even though the frames are relatively good but there is some noticeable hitching going on but switch to 2 cards and even with lower frames, it runs so much smoother. This isn't for all games and could be game engine related but seems 2 way SLI is the sweet spot for me at least and G-Sync.

Welcome. AMD are just catching up.

Still doesnt change a thing. A majority of the best cames to come are Nvidia Game Works!

GameWorks is fantastic and with the likes of The Witcher 3 and Batman Arkham Knight using this, GameWorks is very very good.
