amd to intel

thinking of going from an amd phenom b55 to an intel i5 750.
would same ram be compatable?
and would there be much difference?

You will notice a performance boost, how much I don't know.
Are you running this with DDR3 or DDR2 memory.

If your running with DDR3 what is the default voltage.

the ram is compatible if DDR3, but for the cost of a new motherboard and the cpu is it worth it?

can you sell your old stuff for enough to help the cost?

and Intel are changing the sockets next year.

what cpu do you have? your first post is a bit of a typing error.

it could be either 550BE or 955BE

assuming you have a 955BE - http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/88?vs=109 its not worth 120bucks for that small upgrade.

its a 555 be unlocked to a quad (b55)
but it seems pretty slow now the hd is getting more and more full
