AMD to prioritise flagship CPUs over lower end offerings

@Journey Aren't those the Pro series that you have that are supposed to be for the likes of Dell? If so could you tell me what motherboards are you using and have you had any problems with bios support please?

They are labelled Pro due to some additional features, and as still classified as OEM only, but you can buy them from many places. I've used them in everything from A520, B450's, 550's and even a couple in X570's for people who are waiting on GPU's to be come available. The only problems I have had are as you mentioned with some older boards not having the BIOS support, but there are a good few that don't mention support on the CPU list but do in fact work just fine.

Thanks for that info. I reckon one of these plus a decent B550 M-atx board would get the wife sorted for another good few years. She only does web browsing and plays her silly Facebook games so a APU is perfect for her needs.

They are way more than good enough for that, and as I said in the last page to expect them to be announced at Computex, well AMD did just that. Not that it made much difference at all really as you can get them in their OEM form as well. I suppose the benefit will be that it will keep the prices of the OEM versions slightly below that of the retail box parts.

I'd probably go for a B550 board btw, even if it is just a low end one, as that way you have the most upgrade option in future. :)
