I thought the wait from the 980 to the Fury X was bad but this time it's a real long one. I hope big Vega comfortably out performs the Titan XP as I imagine Nvidia will be ready with a Pascal refresh or whatever it's going to be not long after the vega release, That or the Ti will appear..

Fixed :D:p

On the games I play at 3440 x 1440 I can't say the 4GB on the FuryX has every given me any issues, it is/was a joy to play DOOM on!

Agreed. It would be great if it was this phenomenal. However, given the gap in financial clout, it might have taken this much time just to get to parity. That coupled with the release of a few recent patents may have delayed architectural decisions along the way as well. I can understand the wait. Doesn't mean I'm any less frustrated by it though.

Is there anything more mid-range expected (e.g. £200 - £300) with the VEGA launch, or is it strictly high-end only?

Probably as Jedi said above. It is really important that they concentrate on getting their high end right, they cannot afford to let it end up being Pants :p

Yer, I would hate to see a pair of cards pitted against a Titan XP and claims of "look, a pair of Vega cards are faster and cheaper than a TXP" Hopefully they do have a card that nails the performance and price.... Winner winner chicken dinner if so :)

I basically want a GTX 1070 level card for less than it costs now and with FreeSync (2) support. I think this is a reasonable expectation, no?
At least 1080 levels of performance will do me, My monitors freesync range is 30 to 75 hz at 3440x1440 so I simply want to be able to stay above 30 no matter what and spend most of the time north of 60. I don't like gaming below the mid forties but as long as it has freesync's help when it does go into the 30's it'll do. I do want to end up with either a 144hz 3440x1440 or a 144hz 4k monitor though so the more grunt the better. That said I'll probably move on to Navi or whatever Nvidia offer by the time I upgrade to the next next gen monitor so I could go G-sync at that time. I'll just have to wait and see, for now it's all about Vega.

They both use mgpu, imho, mgpu is crap but why shouldn't they market it as "look, a pair of Vega cards are faster and cheaper than a TXP"?

Even IF a £600 Vega launching with TXP performance happened, you can bet your house AMD marketing will overload on Nando's trying to find 10 recent mgpu compatible games...

As someone that does need a monitor upgrade, the cheapness of Freesync panels compared to their GSync counter parts is a big plus for AMD.

FreeSync's a massive plus for AMD, it's stopped some switching over to Nv, others like yourself looking for a double upgrade so far haven't went Nv as they are often priced out as seen around the gfx sub.

You said it yourself.... mGPU is crap and that's why they shouldn't. Unless they have something that stops the microstutter and works in pretty much a single GPU fashion, mGPU is a no no for me and many others.

it's a real long one.

:D

Why didn't you guys buy a 1080 on release then/black Friday deal/or even now (as they are not much more than £500) ?

On release it could be had for £525 so if AMD release a card at 1080 performance for £500 a year after it will be so underwhelming :(
