AMD VEGA confirmed for 2017 H1

Agreed, especially if you are into modding games. AMD did mention they were optimising per game,IIRC,so it might explain why it does better than it should at times.

Yes AMD did say all along that to get the best use out of HBM the devs have to optimise for it. That's the only worry I had about the 4GB of HBM is the devs not bothering to optimise for it. Mind you that's been AMDs problem for the last 4 years....All the right hardware before it's time and no devs prepared to use it to it's fullest, which is probably due to them going with the bigger slice of the market share which you can't argue with in a business sense I suppose.

But my post was based on fact, so not sure why you ridicule it with nonsense. We all care about the few thousand DX11 games (Millions LOL :-P) as they will still be here when DX13 has come and gone...just the same as all the older DX games. And as far as I can see...in some of the newer titles the RX480 beats the 1060 in DX11 as well as DX12, so maybe the drivers are getting better for AMD in DX11.

The RX480 is a cracking card, no doubt. I love my XFX GTR :)

Please post your source for your claim that the Fury X is faster than the 1070.

Unless I missed it he didn't say a Fury X was faster than a 1070, he said he'd seen a Fury X above a 1070 in at least 1 recently released game. But then as I'm sure you know, a selective quoting of benchmarks can be used to try and prove anything, even that a 970 is faster than a Fury...

Esp with the 1.2 to the pound. The days of UK buyers getting bang for buck are long gone.

you should try eastern europe if you feel bad about the situation in UK - the cards (and everything electronic) cost 10% more than in the UK, and the salaries are 70-80% smaller :D

It always makes me giggle to see Americans or UK residents complain about prices of electronic devices :p

The FuryX never had an official pricedrop, so it's still at £530+ therefore poorer value for money...

Probably due to the fact that they stopped making them and they had more or less sold them all. Therefore no stock to price drop. Cheapest Fiji based product on OCUK at the moment is £269.

It's a great card at that price and it's current footing on a lot of latest titles around or just under 1070. Not bad at all for 4GB :p

I'm not sure where people get this from - in 99% of games the 1070 is way ahead of the Fury pro (air cooled version with disabled shaders and lower clocks) and the Fury X (full fiji with wc).

Why make things up? If the £269 Fury pro's (air cooled with disabled shaders) were 'around' or 'just under' the 1070, don't you think they would be much more popular than they are?

The Titan XP owners thread is bigger than all the Fiji owners thread combined!

I re-read what I posted and yes, okay I did make it sound like the Fury Pro was just under the 1070 on some of the latest titles when in fact it was the Fury X and the Fury X is beating the 1070 on some of the latest titles. My apologies (See Floppers Post and Link above somewhere).

Actually the Fury Pro is only around 5% behind the Fury X on most games and mine has all shaders unlocked so equal to Fury X ;)

So no-one is making anything up :D

As for the Titan X thread....well that will soon be full of people moaning about how Nvidia have shafted them again with the power and cost of the 1080Ti.... they should have known better. Once bitten....etc..:(

I think the point was that on release they were about the same as the drivers were awful. Things are different now, obviously.

They were never the same, Sure games with massive Nvidia bias such as Project cars had the 970 ahead but overall the Fury was a 980 competitor, When I bought mine I did so knowing that it performed like a 980 overall, as is the case with AMD and Nvidia over time ones improved while ones stagnated, as for the 970, it was never in the runnings.

Hi, What difference does that make to how it overclocks and performs?

I wonder as I haven't touched mine although it states I can, Currently with voltage I can do the benches with 1130 on it, What about yours before and after unlocking?
