No because we all know the 7000 series have there share of problems with mantle. Reason I said why would you even choose to use 7950s over 290s?
Use 290s and your issue will be fixed.
I then ask and you never replied how is your 290s?
No point at all. He made it out that am saying everyone should be getting great/better performance than dx what I know is false because 7000 series still have there issues.
So why come at me with 7950s and not his 290s? Knowing full well 7000 series have problems with bf4 and mantle.
Very unlikely, just look at OpenGL games and Windows/OSX/Linux.
Pretty much, just ran Shanghai, 64 player conquest (fully populated).
According to the BF4 frame analyser thing I spent 98.78% of my time above 100fps and 100% above 90fps, so a very minor drop somewhere between 90-99 fps occurred.
This was stock 954mhz anyhow, I'm sure my standard 1110mhz clock would keep it up above 100fps just fine.

As I said, Thracks (or someone) said that the GCN 1.0 cards now have parity with the GCN 1.1 cards in Mantle. You however seem to know better and say they they still have problems?
It may well be a BF4 issue rather than a Mantle issue, but that doesn't mean it won't happen again (especially with anything using the Frostbite engine). Besides which, aren't DICE and the precious Johan one of the main developers that worked with AMD on Mantle? And they can't keep memory usage at 1080p under 3GBs in Mantle? How are the other developers that are allowed to join later gonna cope if DICE and Johan (who can do no wrong) struggle?
I've not run BF4 with Mantle on my 290s because I'm sticking (or have been) to WHQL drivers on that PC and they only got Mantle with 14.4 drivers, by which time I had long been bored with BF4. The other games I've been playing don't have Mantle (i.e. it wasn't Thief).
Talking of ignoring, you seem to have ignored my point about Thief and it's benchmark and also the people running at ~100fps on DX.

Who have I ignored about 100fps on dx? I asked for some footage I have yet to see so that means people have ignored my request not other way around.
And latest Whql driver 14.4 support mantle so now is your chance to make use of them 290s.
I find it hard to believe you use 7950s over 290s? It don't make sense?

Never seen the likes of goog. All amd gpus and hates them. Seriously get some nvidia in there. Sell all your cards and you can just about get 2-3 cheap gtx780's and be happy. I have never seen a man so unhappy with his hardware. Easy solution If you ask me.

You were giving an example of Mantle giving improvements over DX and asked if DX could give results of 100+ fps and then said there had to be a video doing all this and that and something else. So I suggested that using Thief as an example might be easier as it has a benchmark built in that you could use and then people wouldn't need to make a video just so you could argue that they were looking 5º up more than you were, etc.
Since this isn't a BF4 thread we can consider other things.
As I have already said, by the time 14.4s came out I was already bored of BF4. Just to be clear, when I'm bored of a game I stop playing it, therefore having Mantle in the 14.4s didn't make much difference.
I was using my 7950s in BF4 (and Thief benchmark) to see Mantle performance (since I was using the Beta on the 7950s I was still playing BF4 at the time). Doesn't mean I use the 7950s all the time.
Although in fairness I do still use them a lot as they run quieter.

On the subject of this thread I think that it's good for AMD users and not to be sniffed at. I'd say that we all need to wait and see what happens with Mantle in the medium term before getting excited though

Nope Its because you never have anything positive to say. You are as negative as can be and i just cant see why you bother with amd. Most would have gotten rid ages ago never mind bought the next gen. Seriously you have crossfire systems so can afford Nvidias best. Do yourself a favour and buy Nvidia.

Yeah, that evil company which just so happens to have provided the platform and API which have fuelled PC gaming for the past couple of decades
Why oh why is it so "hip and cool" these days to jump on the hating Microsoft bandwagon? Does nobody realise how much they have contributed to the entire technology industry including gaming? Sure they've made mistakes but every company does, do you really think PC gaming would be better under a company like Apple? (Hint - it wouldn't, it would most likely be dead).
that was before microsoft laucnhed their gaming Brand called Xbox, then they did all they can to alienate PC gaming to make their gaming brand shine.

So developers will have to code their games for windows directX 11 and directX 12, windows Mantle, xboxone, PS4, steam OS/ and steam OS mantle.
Cant really see that happening too often as mantle is still only for AMD and the latest cards at that, so that cuts down the audience for the steam OS mantle version by over half right from the start.
