If only nVidia had the same drive as AMD in supporting OpenGL....
I take It thats sarcasm lol. If not Nvidia have always supported opengl more and performed better in there games.

So developers will have to code their games for windows directX 11 and directX 12, windows Mantle, xboxone, PS4, steam OS/ and steam OS mantle.
Cant really see that happening too often as mantle is still only for AMD and the latest cards at that, so that cuts down the audience for the steam OS mantle version by over half right from the start.
Nope Its because you never have anything positive to say. You are as negative as can be and i just cant see why you bother with amd. Most would have gotten rid ages ago never mind bought the next gen. Seriously you have crossfire systems so can afford Nvidias best. Do yourself a favour and buy Nvidia.
Around 50 games have been developed or will be released soon using Mantle tools, with more in the works. Beyond Windows, AMD sees a vast opportunity to “reveal the goodness of gaming” in Linux
Other than heat/noise of the 290s, poor overclocking (not just constrained to AMD GPUs) and in my opinion a cheaper 'feel' to the physical product I'm not sure I've been over negative about my cards.
I've said before that the jumit to some good use lol. for SLI 670s to (first 7950CF) and 290CF wasn't quite as big as I'd hoped, but I think that's a bit my fault for believe they hype.
Other than that I tend to just not be "Mantle is wonderful" and "AMD are the awesomest company to ever exist, ever".
I believe this tends to annoy people as they can't fire back at my arguments with something along the lines of "Why not try Mantle yourself, oh you can't! That explains a lot".
You just come across as hating your amd gpus. I have seriously never seen you say anything positive. The fact that you would rather play on the 7950cf machine should be telling you something. Get rid for some Nvidia cards or send me the machine and I will put I
What positive things should I be saying about them?
Anyone else get the feeling that AMD are painting a big target on themselves by doing this? Mantle was already a threat to Direct3D, now it's becoming a threat to Windows itself. Considering the amount of money Microsoft burned through burying OpenGL this is a risky bridge to cross before you even have medium scale adoption.
If you dont know or have any to speak of then that speaks for itself. Sitting here playing the witcher 2 on my mates 7970's and having a good experience. A little faster than 7950's but guessing the experience would be similar. Metro last light last time I was through was awesome as well. Do you get similar experience's or It all doom and gloom.
So, if AMD do port Mantle to Linux does that mean that any game made with Mantle is automatically compatible with both Windows AND Linux without any further tweaking??
If so, VERY interesting...
But that's not exclusive to AMD? And playing games (that it should be doing) isn't really a positive is it?
Surely playing games good on a graphics card is the biggest positive you can have. Thats what they are designed for is it not?.

Great stuff.![]()
I buy a gaming card to game and if it plays games to my liking without being to loud am happy. It would seem others need it to fetch them beer and be there best friends. Seriously if a card runs games to a good level what more do you want from what is called a GAMING card. Yes there are secondarys like power usage and noise but you should already know these values before buying.
