AMD Working on At Least Three Radeon RX Vega SKUs, Slowest Faster than GTX 1070

When I bought a 7970 at launch I have to say the drivers weren't great on new games. Have to say I kept the card for 3 years though and it's performance was very good in the long run.

I have a 1080 now but would consider going back to amd if they have a product which shows a decent improvement over what I have. Otherwise I guess I'll just wait for Volta.

I've found both vendors drivers fine tbh, But there is always some in both driver threads here and on other forums with issues

Me too. I've never understood this whole "AMD drivers are terrible". I'm not convinced people understand what drivers actually are, and whether they're conflating disliking the user interface with the "driver being bad". Because for years, AMD's control panel user interfaces were ugly as hell.

Even with the actual documented proof of nVidia having some particularly nasty driver issues that have sparked class action law suits, I still haven't experienced any issues that weren't my own fault through overclocking or messing around in areas you're not really supposed to. BIOS flashing and all that.

My first gpu was a 7850. Drivers where fine not one problem. Not sure I really needed to update them that often. That's a new thing needing drivers every game release tbh.

Got 770 after that and then a 970. Both where fine until the 360 drivers came out and my 970 couldn't even keep its stock oc settings without crashing. Lasted well over a year getting crashes without underclocking.

Got 480 now and not had a driver problem once. 6 months I've had it.

Well apparently AMD is being paid for adverts on their crimson app, so every time you update the drivers and view the adv they make money.

The crap drivers is from a time long past and has just stuck. I have been using AMD for around 17 years almost constant as had a 8800gtx for a year. The drivers have never been a big issue. I am either the luckiest guy to have used AMD hardware or the drivers have been decent. The whole package is certainly more polished these days but in my experience it was always a case of install the driver and go play. Never been someone who fiddles with settings to much which probably helped me a lot. Have only ever used MX420 and the 8800gtx on the Nvidia side and i never ran into any problems there either. I do think i was a victim of the infamous driver that was killing 8800's though as my card died with that driver installed. I was just about ready to upgrade at the time so didn't really get angry about it.
