AMD working on Holodeck??

Yeah I think AMD has won the 'pointless extra capability' war with this. I don't think 3d vision stacks up anyway. :p

Edit: I can imagine the future arguments:

"my PPD on folding@home is awesome"
"who cares? holodeck porn"

I am giddy with excitement if this turns out to be anywhere near as cool as it sounds. It is something we should all be aiming towards anyway: there are so many practical applications for a holodeck human life would no doubt be enhanced greatly.

Great. We can interact with the BSOD. :)

A holodeck would be an excellent technological achievement though. Just wonder how many years we will have to wait until its a reality...

It wont be anything like a holodeck, infact thats pretty bad journalism tbh lol. Knowing AMD it'll be 360 degree eyefinity via 8 monitors or something. 3 in front, 3 behind and 1 on each side etc. More "realistic" in terms of todays computing power and technology anyway

Need a machine that can put us in a dream induced state and then pump data into our brains via electrodes so we basically play the game as ourselves in our minds and when we wake as we would have been lucid we would remember it all and think it was epic. Just imagine playing Portal irl.

Don't need a machine for that, just a few pills or combinations of them :D

PS Do NOT try this at home I am joking and have never tried any such thing

When they're working on a room that generates a 3D environment then physically creates it using real matter, then they can call it a holodeck. What they're currently working on is making Eyefinity work with more/bigger monitors.
