thats one thing bad about amd cpus
they need such a big vcore jump to get to 3ghz
my 3700 can do 2.7ghz at stock but takes 1.55 to get to 3ghz

Hmm, well ive owned two 3700's that both went to 2.9 on stock volts, two 4000's, one would reach 3.0Ghz and other 2.85Ghz on stock volts. Currently running X2 939 4800+ and that went to 3.0Ghz no problem with minor 0.025 jump in volts.

So with good stepping its easy enough in my opinion.

thats not fair i reach 250Mhz TOPs with my 4600+

yeah try lowering your ram to 266 and see if that helps.

My Opty 165 can run @ 2.95ghz although it gets a little hot!

yeah try lowering your ram to 266 and see if that helps.

my memory is rated to run 250mhz default so i don't see ram being the problem
