AMD X2 or wait for the AM2 sockets?

If money is no option then wait. It will be better to some degree.

Or if on a budget wait till they come out and pick up some 939 stuff for a bit cheaper.

Hmmm OK Ill wait but I might just get a 939 because I will probably be on a budget with having to upgrade to PCI-e and all the other bits and pieces. And I like AMD anyway.

Dont worry they are supposed to start at under £100.

Traitors. :p

Intel are an evil company, its got squat to do with their CPU`s, you just dont buy intel, thus you prove you have some moral concience :p
I've never understood this argument.

Intel are a corporation out to make money for itself and its shareholders, as is AMD and pretty much every corporation on the planet. Last I checked AMD wasn't a charity, it isn't taking in swans that get covered in oil, cleaning them up and releasing them into the wild, etc.

Im genuinely curious - why do people think AMD is a shining beacon of virtue in an otherwise cruel and vindictive World?

For years Intel and MS concocted twopence halfpenny systems and sold them for massive shareholders profits putting nothing back into the technology.

AMD at least made an effort albeit though they had no choice to improve the technology. And are now IMO in the same league as Intel and co.

In a real competitive enviroment there are many winners and losers and real suffering, in the Intel enviroment you just need the muscle to get your own way!

Maybe thats a perception of those who have paid for this crap down through the ages. Or maybe I am rambling in a thorny enviroment.

i mean, lash out by all means if you want an extra 5fps for £1000+ :p

defcon, you sig caught my eye, an x2 is technically 2 times faster than the single core anyway :p and its also at the limits of ssoi :)
