Hello there,

I'll start by listing my hardware specs and going from there.

Specs

I5 2500k @4.7ghz

Asus Z68 V Gen 3 (lastest bios)

MSI Twin Frozr 390 (Stock clocks)

Drivers: Aderline 2019 18.12.2

8GB OF DDR3 Ram with XMP profile at 1600mhz

PSU Coolermaster V700

Windows 10 (Lastest updated/edition)

Well, now that's out the way. I'll start by saying that i am having the error Amdkmdap Event ID 4101 Flagging me a lot. It happens most when i load up a game, however. It does occur on the desktop/browsing and watching videos. I mostly get the game crashing, freezing, then coming back, then freezing then crashing again. It will ocasionally just lock up and i'll have to force a shut down.

The strange thing is.. it will work for a day or so and nothing will of changed and it will come back.

I have tried the following solutions...

Reformatted PC

Updated Bios

Used DDC in Safemode

Checked the 12v/7v/5v Rail on my PSU

I have tried 4 different set of drivers.

I have unplugged and reconnected the Graphics card.

I have changed the TDR to 8

I have reset everything to stock including the CPU OC.

There was one method in which i couldn't get to work. It was the Method 4: Rename atikmdag.sys file.. it was not in said location of C:\Windows\System32\drivers but in C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository\c0313676.inf_amd64_96bbc33bec5c7fae\B313602 and i could not rename or do anything as Windows refused to rename it even after adjusting the file access parameters to me.

I am at a loss here. I have tried everything that i have troubleshooted what i have read online and more yet just when i think the profile has disappeared. It comes back and highly annoying.

Any help would be truly appreciated!.

your memory is it 1 single 8gb stick or 2 4gb sticks? might seem crazy, however if 2 can you remove 1 stick and retest. ive seen reports elsewhere where memory was causing this issue and removing a stick fixed the issue and since you have tried almost everything else.

It's two seperate sticks of corsair vengence 1600mhz ddr3 and in the proper slots as dictated by the motherboard manual. I have even ran an Memtest on them and they're fine as well but i'll try removing one of the sticks and going from there!.

Well, so far it hasn't crashed with taking out one stick but that's only after one game. I'll have to give it more time and see if it truly is the issue.

test it for a few days if needs be, however as i said. ive seen similar reports else where of memory causing this issue, not sure why however.

Well, it would seem it wasn't the ram as 2 hours later the same issues came back >.<
can you post the event viewer logs, there might be more than 1, im specifically looking for the app crash event if you have one.
might be worth swapping the sticks also and retesting, i know you dont get memtest issues, but will fully eliminate that as the problem
edit: i noticed you mentioned when browsing the web, will also be worth disabling hardware acceleration in the browser and testing that.

I'll have a try but when I reformatted and did the drivers ASAP then went straight to a game. The issue was there but I'll try again

thought that might be the case, but also thought you may have reinstalled skype after the format. out of curiosity did you swap the sticks of ram around and testing the other stick you took out on its own? its unlikely the cause at this point but worth a shot.
edit: i can see an unclean shutdown, did you get a bsod? if so can you post a minidump
edit 2: have you monitored temps when the crash is triggered, ideally in game? if so what are they looking like?

Yeah, it will every so often just black screen and I have to power it down by pressing the power button.

I am not quite sure if that will still produce a mini dump and if it does not sure about how or where to get it to show you.

There was no mini dump file so had to configure it as suggested in the article you gave me. The next time i have a black screen i'll upload the minidump for you.

As for the other memory stick.. I'll try it now and get back to you.

its an msi card, I would bet that if you underclock it by like 100mhz on the core and 100mhz on the memory that it will possibly work, imo msi make poor cards, well at least on the amd side and every msi laptop I have owned has fallen apart prematurely so why should this be any different, ive had several 280x gaming cards that couldn't reach stock clocks, an msi 290 in a friends machine that couldn't do stock clocks so id wager that your card might be the same. Could also be memory as others have said.

Yeah, i did attempt to underclock the memory, increase the power limit but never did try the GPU core.. >.<

Well, i tested with the other stick and got a black screen/frooze and lost my screen signal. It did not even produce a minidump.

Any help would be truly appreciated!.

The issue is Microsofts default TDR setting.
Go to registry HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\GraphicsDrivers
If there is TdrDelay record, change value to 8
If there is not TdrDelay record, right click on a open space and create a new Dword and name it TdrDelay . Double click that and set a value of 8.
