American fridge freezers - recommendations please?

I remember commenting on your kitchen thread about the song it sings when the door is open. Mine is different though, couldn’t do without the beverage zone (hidden door on the top left panel) with the jug :D
Oh yeah that one looks pretty fancy/couple models up. Don't think I could afford it :X

Aye ive got got that fridge and it's pretty good. Mine was £1175 from an offer at John Lewis, don't think I'd pay silly money for the tablet part but having ice is nice

Does the screen stay on all the time? Just curious as I wonder how much extra power that screen and tablet device uses in a year.

What chopping board is that?

The beverage centre is amazing. I didn’t think I’d really use it but it’s just awesome.

Just for information, Samsung sell their own filters for £29, but anyone can get two if you look around. https://www.samsung.com/uk/home-appliance-accessories/accessory-filter-hafex-hafex-exp/

As for the compressor, I have no info on what Samsung use on standard fridge freezers but the Danfloss doesn't seem like a invertor version they use with the ones that have a 20 year warranty. However this seems to be a replacment https://www.orionairsales.co.uk/sam...nverter-compressor-r410a--415v50hz-9341-p.asp

Just seen this, unless I’m mistaken that compressor is a 3 phase beast?

Thanks for the filters

We have a large, American styled plumbed in Samsung, and would NOT recommend.

Paid £2k 4 years ago, have had it serviced twice, once due to faulty temperature sensors, then a failing freezer coolant system.
Ice maker continually freezes solid, and it there is a class action lawsuit against Samsung regarding this.

Sensors are still iffy, and I turn it off at the plug every few days to reset them :/

I'm saving a big a warranty callout for just before the warranty expires so that everything can be 'fixed' for as long as possible, then move to another brand altogether. It sucks, as the design/layout and space is great.

Hi all. Thanks for the advice above. We ended up ordering a Samsung RS68A8830B1 side by side American style, because the price was good.

Would have ideally preferred a French over / under style for the reasons mentioned above, but choice for <£1k was fairly limited for the brands we wanted.

Got one new from Marks Electrical (the delivery team was awful) for £930 delivered with the old one recycled.

Seems to be a common occurrence with Samsung where they fail to acknowledge known issues with their products and treat customers like idiots. Makes me wonder why so many people continue to buy their stuff.
