I really empathise with the nutters in all of these films and think they are great, are there any more films like these?

Travis Bickle in Taxi Driver might be your man, or Silence of the Lambs, or Psycho, or the Shining.

Just watching one now called Gangster No 1 with that guy out of Wimbledon.
He's a nutter.
One of the best films I've never heard of before.

How can a person emphasise with unless he meant to say that he is emphasising something alongside each of these 'nutters'? Perhaps he wishes to advocate mental illness...

Uh, what? He said empathise, not emphasise. Also I don't think he meant it quite literally...!

Those films all highlight a basic unease with themselves, so I suppose any number of character driven, "self discovery" based plots would do. If you're looking for films which couple that with something more ideological (like American Psycho does - even if its too shallow to believe), then you're not left with much.
