Does anyone know the secret to this kind of bacon? I'm referring to the type found in say a Pret Super Club sandwich. It tastes gorgeous and is nice and crispy. I can make normal crispy bacon from streaky bacon but it's just not the same.

M&S sell it in packets but I'd rather make my own if possible. Is the bacon a different cut? Is it cured differently?

I like both, thin crispy for burgers or butties, and thick rashers for fry-ups or whatever. Hate biting a bacon butty and having a big string of fat pull the whole rasher out when I move it away from my face.

what do the americans do with the good bacon

can never find it when im over there

streaky bacon is nice, but you cant beat full rashers

American bacon = failboat on it's side against a kerb with a cat, a dog and whatever else is flavour of the month all squatting against it.

American bacon deserves to be beaten, shot, exterminated, beaten some more, and left to fester forever in Room 101. Evil stuff that should never have been. Completely wrong. Proper bacon all the way. 9/10 Americans who know better will most likely agree with me (I know several who do).

But if you really must, yeah, thin streaky bacon, usually cooked to destruction.

streaky crispy bacon for sandwiches, you can't beat good chicken and bacon sandwich when it's made with crispy streaky bacon.
