Hey ,

Just downloaded americas army ( new version ) and i looked at my FPS and it was saying- 10.XX ...Is that bad ?

Whats a good FPS to have with a BFG 7800 GT oc ?

And how do i go about putting it right ?

Thanks in advance ..

Maddad

from my Experience of AA (from a long time ago) it was horrable and the only way to get any points was to be on the winning team (usually a bunch of clanners) and just stay there for hours.

not very fun either. and i have some issues with a game claiming to be realisting of battle, but with M16's with the kick of an M14... ffs, make it right!!!

Its good but you need to do all of the training to get any guns worth using, and i cant complete the special forces training for the life of me.

afaik, SF training is different now from when i did it.

anyone want my AA account? i've done and passed all the training. (even sniper)

also try www.aaotracker.com as well for help

that game gets great fps on a lot of machines, had it running on my 2.66p4 with gf4 mx440 :p

its not the type of game u can just casually pick up, once uve practised quite a bit it becomes much more fun and far easier

Tried this today for the god knows how many times, First problem i get is a windows protection fault just as i'm about to join a game. The second problem is i can't browse servers (it says it can't connect) so i've given up for the god knows how many times.

A good game ruined by the yanks imo. I mean why can't there be a mode where people can just jump on and play without all the training malarky!

if you want to install it on windows xp64 get the modified installer from aaotracker download section. works fine then.

Absolutely awesome game been playing since version 1.9. Training is there to stop CS smacktards from jumping in a server and TK'ing everyone. Once u got your training you will think twice about ruining your account, since most servers only let 10 honour minimum play. There are "training" servers to get your honour back but if u continue and go for 1 honour I remember reading that they will ban your account.

The whole server can usually spot a noob, if they are making dumb mistakes.

The special forces training is quite tricky, if its the still the same as when I did it. However medic training is not essential (if you find it boring), and the only mandatory training is the rifle range.

Its not true that the only weapons worth using need extra training. The sniper rifle is unlockable if you get 36/40 on the rifle range and then complete (a much easier) sniper test.

How many other games are updated with the latest unreal engine, new maps every patch and all at the bargin price of free?

Be warned this is not a bunny hoppers paradise and long range shots take some concentration.

Since I started with version 1.9 this is the only game that has never been off my hard drive. Previously I liked tactical ops (mod for unreal tournament which went retail), but there was too much bunny hoping and instant headshots for my liking. Running around a corner bunny hopping always beat a tactical player using cover which imo is not realistic.

Camping is allowed in game and depending on the map you will find varying degrees of it.

The shooting range has shown the benifits of getting a good mouse and setting sensitivity to your movement style. I first got 23/40 which is enough to play online but lately I tried it again and got 39/40 and getting that seemed all too easy. I was using my in game settings tool.

If ** on 10Mb u will get it in about 10min from the UK 1000Mbit server.

This game actually requires more skill and patience as you cant just run around and bunny hop. And to be honest every weapon is worth using, if you pratcise you can get really good at using, like the m16.

how does it compare to bf2?
Better more realistic models, with ragdoll deaths, and no bodies fly 1000yards into the air.

Tbh u may like one more than the other but they are sufficiently different to allow one or the other as a change. A significant gamestyle point is that the rounds are shorter (max 10min), and if u die then u become a spectator till the end of the round. There is much more use of cover and no mini-map to give away position.

There is more emphasis on surviving the round since no one wants to spectate, so its taken more seriously than BF2.

BF2 is a very different game. The biggest change is the lack of respawning. ANd this puts off a large amount of players, they don't like having to wait for the round to end.
But, if it is your kind of game it can be hugely enjoyable and to me is more satisfying when you play well than BF2 ever is.

It is also very good if played with friends on voice comms, as this brings out the tactics side of the game that the developers have tried to encourage.

I've been playing since 1.6 and have 3 accounts now, can't see me ever stopping.

I used to play this and found it totally nerve racking, when you were the last guy on your team left alive and were trying to sneak past a sniper hiding under a tree to win the mission it really got your heart pounding.
