Amiga 500 mini?.

Many people who use this vintage computer stuff normally have the knowledge to repair/service there own computers after all the hardware is old and the inevitable will happen. All off the things you mentioned are repairable. I'd strongly recommend anybody to learn electronics and computer repair because these are skills you will need at some point. I make an acception to some additional modern addons like the Gotek etc.
I disagree.
At a guess I would say its 80/20 or even 90/10 with 80% just loving vintage and having a few vintage consoles or the odd computer from the 90s (like me)
General computer builds skills, OS install and some DOS is required for PCs, but actually repairing the hardware components e.g. sound card repair or CRT monitor repair is a very small percentage. Most will just sell as 'untested' or parts only instead of risking breaking components even further or injuring themselfs (not to mention the time it takes)

Learning electronis is not exactly quick and easy as you also need the tools which can be expensive. Maybe spending 10+ hours watching videos on youtube is helpful but even when I have done this in the past its nothing like it when you do it yourself
