Amir Khan v Carlos Molina

What good is speed against someone with an awesome defence? He doesn't have the power to trouble Mayweather and is susceptible to counter punches so how do you propose that he will trouble Mayweather?

Khan doesn't deserve to be anywhere near a ring that contains Mayweather. I'd still like to see the fight though, it'd be comical.

Khan would probably try and get a points victory but i reckon he would get KO'd

It's the only thing that could trouble an awesome defence. Raw power doesn't, as we have seen time and time again. Speed however is much more effective, just watch the first few rounds of the Judah - Mayweather fight before Judah gassed out.

With his speed. He may not have the power to trouble Mayweather, but Khan tends to throw 4-5 even 6 punches at a time and they are very quick. You rarely see anyone land clean shots on Mayweather but with the sheer volume of punches Khan throws and his speed, he would probably have more success landing shots then many of Mayweathers previous opponents.

Khan is very susceptible to counters, but Mayweather doesn't throw one shot knockout punches. I can see their fight going the distance or a late stoppage for Mayweather. Breidis Precott KO'd Khan within 60 seconds, yet I don't think Mayweather could ever do that, it's not his style nor would he even try to do that. That doesn't mean Breidis Prescott is a better fighter then Mayweather.

Khan doesn't deserve to be anywhere near a ring that contains Mayweather. I'd still like to see the fight though, it'd be comical.

I'd also love to see the fight just to see how it pans out. I'd be happy to be proven wrong.

My two cents.
Khan is as fast as anyone else out there, if not faster. He has a huge advantage with s hand speed. He is also an accurate puncher, and has decent power, he marks his opponents and in most of his fights you tend to think he'll get the knockout inside the first 4-5 rounds. Unfortunately his boxing brain is rubbish and hopefully is something his new trainer will sort out. Instincts are instincts though and I'm sure he will get drawn in toe to toe again the future at which point he will get hit and lose his 'game plan' as he does.

Regarding his chin- ok so he gets knocked out, and pretty spectacularly. This doesn't mean he necessarily has a glass chin. He actually takes a lot of shots. Best example being vs Maidana who is widely known to be a heavy puncher. He took a lot of punishment in that match. Ok he hasn't got a granite chin like Carl Froch, but he can certainly take some hits. Ricky Hatton has been knocked out badly, does that mean he has a glass chin? No.

On paper Khan should have what it takes to beat anyone in the division. Hopefully Hunter can actually make it happen. I think he'll beat Garcia in a rematch, providing he sticks to a game plan. Even in the first fight, Garcia was clearly struggling to keep up, and was getting caught all the time, before he finally landed on Khan.

That's not how I saw the garcia fight at all. You make it sound like it was a lucky shot and the only one that garcia landed. He was actually landing good counters throughout the (short) fight, and also went to the body with hard shots. He was probably expecting his strategy to pay off in the later rounds after weathering the storm early on, but in fact it paid off by round 3. At the end of the day, both men were able to land their shots, but only one man could withstand them, winning a convincing KO victory.

In order to change that, Khan would have to make fundamental changes to the way he fights, and at this age, I can't think of many people in boxing who have ever achieved that.
