Amnesia Dark Descent

I heard even the demo ****s people up, just like the Doom III demo did for me, when you go all the way to the destroyed bit, then turn around and come back in, and that thing, eurgh.. XD
 
Give it a go and come back to us.

It looked scary.. I'm terrified of Dead Space, had to get the gf to play it and she screams all the time.. but brave enough to play it.. haha So tempted ourselves to try Amnesia.
 
DS2 has a few parts that will make you jump (did for me anyway) but it's not a particulaly scary game imo.

Bought ADD in a recent Steam sale but haven't played it yet. Now that does look a scary game.
 
Got bored, didn't finish it. The is a game whose reputation now precedes it.

And yes, I did play it in the dark with headphones etc etc.
 
Yes it's an amazing game, play it, best horror game hands down.

If you're worried about being terrified, that's where the fun is! The atmosphere is truly incredible, I love it.

P.S Amnesia is far more scary than Dead Space.

If Doom 3 **** you up then you've got no chance. Doom 3 is a poor quality "Boo! Haha made you jump" *repeat ad nauseum* hidden within a standard FPS that manages to create an atmsophere on occasion until you remember that you're packing more firepower than entire teams in CoD TDM. Amnesia is genuinely fear inducing.

Same. Didn't find it particularly scary and got bored and gave up on it after 3-4 hours play.

May have got scarier later in the game but I couldn't be bothered playing any more to find out.
 
I LOVE Amnesia: Dark Descent!!

The great thing is it's all atmosphere, and the fact that you HAVE to RUN AWAY. :D (And most of the time you don't know what you're running from!)

It's not a 'BOO' game...
It's a: 'I thought I was alone in these dark rooms so why can I here that piano in the hall playing to itself...' game
 
It's terrifying. Absolutely terrifying. The fact that you can't fight back when something starts trying to batter the door down can lead to utter panic and sheer paralysis as you can't figure out where to hide.

Love it... very close to the end now, I think. Might finish it tonight.
 
Wow, I'm watcing the teaser trailer on Steam. I'll buy it if it goes down in price but I'd hope that it comes with a pair of brown underwear.
 
I'm one of those guys who watched the youtube reaction videos and thought "Yeah right, it can't be that scary"

Well, let me tell you, it really is that scary. Make sure you play with the lights off, good headphones and at night time.
