amount of memory compared to cpu speed?

hiya im having a little arguement with a freind of mine i was wondering if anyone can help settle it

the question in debate is:

do you need equal memmory to ghz of processor i.e if i have a 3.0ghz cpu do i need 3gb ram?

to be fair i was still in doubt but only because although my mate waswrong he made a compelling arguement i think they call it pos (power of suggestion) thanks all
