If you're going to go to any museums,i.e. anne franks house, you will have to book in advance to avoid any large ques, travel along Prinsengracht a really scenic canal, you could get a bicycle and cycle around the city to see it that way. Which could be a cool unique way to sight see.

After a 10 year/£320M refit, you really have to visit the Rijksmuseum.
Nothing else in Amsterdam is worth spending a single day on.
