it was aweome. and go to smokey's cafe. and hanky panky tattoos :D and of course the manditory red light district
 
thats in the red light district. its expensive in there but you do get fruity young ladies dancing around in not much serving your drinks
 
If you want the other, other meat, you don't even have to look. They are literally everywhere, even between typical grocery shops and such. The first time I went there it was a very surreal experience, almost embarassing. You quickly get used to it though. There's a couple of cocktail bars where naked ladies serve you drinks and also offer you some special... milk, eheheh.

Frivolity? I thoroughly recommend getting up early, visting an off license, and buying beer. Then have smoke and rent a pedelo. Cause some carnage on the canals.
Its a great laugh, even if it does re-enforce the bad image of drunken brit males aboard.

going in Jan as well. Went there this time last year, the only places i remember were the red light destrict and a plac ein the centre of town called the bull. Everything else was a haze, pardon the pun
 
Just wander round.. there's so much packed into so little space, it felt similar to walking around disney land the first time I went. The shock of seeing the red light district (and more so the transition between night and day of it) was, as already posted, quite surreal and a little embarrassing at first.
 
If you go off the beaten track you can often find dead hookers, they are much cheaper but slightly less enthusiastic.
 
Watch out if your in the red light district in the evening time for the drug pushers dont even aknowledge them or you wont be able to get rid of the buggers as my mate found out

Heh, me and my mates have just booked up (two days ago) to go to Amsterdam in Feb too (Leaving on the 3rd and returning on the 8th - ferry :() We are staying in the Amsterdam Cribs, highly recommended by people on the EDIT forums for being smoker friendly. Cant wait :)

Also, I don't have personal experience but Barney's Breakfast Bar and Abraxas are suppose to be great coffee shops, both are Cannabis Cup winners too :D

Greenhouse Centrum is the best place for windmills, plus it's right next to the S ;)

Barneys Breakfast Bar is good but it's very small.
